David Haigh, the former managing director of Leeds United, has been appointed as a committee member at Cornish non-league side Penzance AFC.
Haigh, 39, left Leeds in April 2014 after Massimo Cellino bought the club.
"Penzance is a great grounding of a club, with an awful lot of potential to grow in the community," Haigh told BBC Radio Cornwall.
Penzance are bottom of the South West Peninsula League Division One West, the 11th tier of English football.

Image source, Getty ImagesThe threat of a ban from football should be enough of a deterrent without the need for drug testers, according to Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy.
McCarthy was responding to a BBC Sport study which found at least 39% of English Football League (EFL) players were not tested in 2015-16.
"To risk a career and getting banned for a couple of years, there really not ought to be any drug testers," he said.
The study also found no tests were carried out in the National League.

Gareth Bale could return from injury for Real Madrid on Saturday.
The Wales forward, 27, has been out since having surgery to repair ankle tendon damage suffered in November.
Bale is not fit enough to be included in Real's squad for Wednesday's Champions League tie against Napoli but could feature in Saturday's La Liga match at home to Espanyol.
That would mean he would be fit for Wales' crucial World Cup qualifier with the Republic of Ireland on 24 March.

The Dons boss stressed that he would not speak about "speculation" linking him with the job with his side's Scottish Premiership rivals.
"They are a strong club with a lot of tradition and there will always be people interested in that," said the former West Brom captain.
"My concern is for Aberdeen. I am fully focused on my job here."

Hamilton will be partnered by the 27-year-old Finnish driver for the new season, which gets under way in Melbourne next month.
"I feel it is possible," said Bottas when asked if he could get the better of Hamilton. "Nico Rosberg showed beating Lewis is possible."

The Reds, who beat Spurs 2-0 on Saturday, are fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind second-placed Manchester City.
"We had three or four difficult weeks but we are out of that now," said Mane. "It's too early to speak about what's going to happen but the confidence is back in this team now."

Injured Mario Gotze has not been included in the Borussia Dortmund squad for Tuesday's Champions League last-16 first leg at Benfica.
The midfielder, 24, is struggling with a leg injury that kept him out of Dortmund's surprise 2-1 defeat at Bundesliga bottom side Darmstadt.
Dortmund's form has faltered since December, with the German side winning just two of their previous nine games in all competitions.
They have only lost once in that time but Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel is hoping for a convincing win in Portugal to revive their campaign.

Paris St-Germain boss Unai Emery will be all too aware of the importance of performing in Europe after last year's sacking of Laurent Blanc.
Frenchman Blanc won 11 of the 12 domestic trophies available during his three campaigns in Paris, but was fired after falling at the Champions League quarter-finals for a third consecutive year.

"Knowing Unai, I know he will try to make our life complicated," said Barca boss Luis Enrique.
"He knows us perfectly, he knows exactly what we have to offer. Our goal will be to keep the ball and create space because they will be taking risks."

The 34-year-old has a decade of experience in England but in the last five years he has played abroad apart from a brief spell at Reading.
He told BBC Sport: "I left to play in China, Qatar and Turkey, but my family and heart was always in England.
"I've always said I would love to end my career in England and that plan is still on track."
