Bournemouth have only lost once in their last six games, a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea last weekend.

They are currently 15th, seven points clear of the relegation place.

"I get asked about a points target every week. We know we need more points and that's what we're going out to get," said Howe.

"There's never a bad time to get a good run, the run of games we're in is tough, so to get a decent run is a powerful thing for us."

Bournemouth held Tottenham to a goalless draw the last time they played in October.

He added: "We'll need to match our performance from the home game earlier this year or even surpass it to get a result at White Hart Lane."

"If we make any mistakes at Tottenham they'll punish us. We didn't play well there last year Hopefully that experience can inspire us."

Tyrone Mings will return this weekend after serving a five-match ban for violent conduct, after the Football Association panel ruled he deliberately stood on the head of Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

But Eddie Howe says Dan Gosling is a doubt.

"Dan Gosling has had a setback this week, we thought he'd be ready for Tottenham but now we're not so sure," said Howe.

"It's been frustrating for Tyrone Mings on the sidelines. He's back for this game and he's ready if he's called upon."

  9. Dortmund 'ignored' over Monaco tiepublished at 09:34 British Summer Time 13 April 2017

One of the big talking points was whether the game should even have gone ahead, less than 24 hours after the bus attack.

Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel was pretty vocal after the game. He says his club were "completely ignored" over the rescheduling of the game.

"We were told by text message that Uefa was making this decision," said Tuchel.

"A decision made in Switzerland that concerns us directly. We will not forget it, it is a very bad feeling."

Following Tuchel's comments, Uefa released a statement saying the decision to play the match at 17:45 BST on Wednesday was made in "complete agreement with clubs and authorities".

European football's governing body added: "We were in touch with all parties today and never received any information which suggested that any of the teams did not want to play."

Teenager Kylian Mbappe scored twice as Monaco edged the first leg of the rescheduled Champions League quarter-final tie at Borussia Dortmund.

In a match delayed by 24 hours after a bomb attack on the hosts' bus,Mbappe diverted in Thomas Lemar's cross before Sven Bender's own goal made it 2-0.

Ousmane Dembele slotted in from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's flick to pull one back for Dortmund, but Mbappe curled home to restore the two-goal cushion before Shinji Kagawa added a late second for the hosts.

Kagawa showed great skill to dribble past Jemerson and slot in, and there was almost even more late drama when Aubameyang headed over from yards out.

But Monaco survived and will take a slender advantage into a highly anticipated second leg at Stade Louis II on 19 April.
