    Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

We're not sure if Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has even broken sweat.

The French fifth seed has breezed past compatriot Adrian Mannarino on Centre Court at Queen's, winning 6-2 6-2 in little over an hour.

"It was a good match, I played pretty well. I had to play my best to beat Adrian," he says.

Then the likeable world number 10 muses about how great London is in the sun, tells the crowd to keep hydrated and chats about family life after becoming a father for the first time recently.

    Told you he was chilled.

'We've contacted Shawcross' - Stoke chiefpublished at 13:26 British Summer Time 19 June 2017

    Ryan ShawcrossImage source, PA

Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes is hopeful captain Ryan Shawcross will sign a new long-term contract as the defender approaches the final year of his current deal.

The 29-year-old centre-back agreed a six-year term in November 2012 and talks have been on-going about extending that stay.

"When you've got important players, you want to do something sooner rather than later," Scholes told The Sentinel.

"But that is a very simple statement about what can be a very complicated and long process. "There's always talks. People talk about 'have talks started?' We've been in contact."

    Tennis

A magnificent seven might be stretching it - but it is a bloomin' good seven.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has rattled off seven games on the bounce to take control of his opening match at Queen's against fellow Frenchman Adrian Mannarino.

The world number 10 is leading 6-2 3-0, and is so chilled in the west London sun that he's even high-fiving ball girls in-between points.

England Under-21 coach Aidy Boothroyd has warned there are no "second chances" before his team's must-win Euro 2017 group game against Slovakia.

The winner of each of the three groups qualifies automatically, with the best second-placed team also going through.

And after Friday's goalless draw against Sweden in Poland, he said: "It is an unforgiving set up.

"You've got to hit the ground running. We have to win so there's no point trying to shy away from it."

Chinese Super League clubs face a 100% tax on signings as their mid-season transfer window opens on Monday.

The country's Football Association is proposing the measure for loss-making clubs in order to try to curb the league's extravagant spending.

Chinese clubs spent £331m during the country's winter transfer window, which was more than their English Premier League counterparts in January.

The proceeds from the tax would go into a government-run fund.
