That 6-4 3-6 6-3 defeat for Kyle Edmund earlier today means the British number two goes into Wimbledon without a win on the grass court this year.

He was knocked out in the first round at Queens by teenager Denis Shapovalov before Donald Young swept him aside today.

Marcus Willis has been talking to the media after his first-round win in Wimbledon qualifying, 12 months on from his run to the second round proper.

"It feels very different," said Willis. "Last year I came here and no-one really knew what was going on, I was happy to be here.

"I’m happy to be here again, obviously, but after what I did last year, doing less could be disappointing."

Next up for Willis is an all-British contest against good friend Liam Broady.

"There will probably be more people rooting for Marcus, he's a loveable guy and fantastic to watch," said Broady.

Asked if he was using Crystal Palace as a stepping stone to another club, Frank de Boer replied: "I don't want to think about it, I am focusing on this job. What happens in the future is not important. I want to concentrate on making Palace a solid Premier League team. That is my only concern. I have signed for three years and I want to stay for the three years,"

The last Palace manager to complete three years or more in charge was Steve Coppell from 1984-93.
