This maybe the best story from the weekend.

Lions fan Alex Edwards was meant to be staying in his campervan in the carpark of Ponsonby Rugby Club in Auckland.

But the Englishman was then invited by the club's manager Sandra Wihongi, to stay at her home.

He accepted the offer to sleep on her sofa, but there was a surprise waiting for him.

Sandra's sons just happen to be All Blacks Rieko and Akira Ioane - the former scoring twice against the Lions on Saturday.

“The two lads walked in and introduced themselves," Edwards told the Telegraph., external "I said: ‘You two are big’ but I didn’t twig who they were.

He continued: “I googled them and remembered seeing them in the Olympics. Then it kind of twigged. I felt like a bit of a lemon. Everyone in New Zealand worships the ground they walk on and I pitched up on tod and didn’t have a clue. It was a bit of a shock.”

NZ a win away from America's Cuppublished at 09:22 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

We haven't heard much about the America's Cup since Ben Ainslie's team bowed out, but New Zealand can seal the title later today in Bermuda.

The Kiwis lead the USA 6-1 in the best-of-13 series.

Victory means they can bury the ghosts of their 2013 defeat.

Back then, the USA, led by a certain Mr Ainslie, came from 8-1 down to win 9-8.

Former England international Matt Stevens has told Radio 5 live that Maro Itoje should start for the Lions in Saturday's second Test.

"I think he's one of the players of our generation and look at the match ups," Stevens said. "One of the best players in the All Blacks team for the last three years is Brodie Retallick and Maro Itoje has the potential to be a Brodie Retallick.

"I'd like to see that match up start early on and then you've got the likes of Alun-Wyn Jones, who can come on and put in a huge twenty minutes at the end. For me, I'd like to see Maro start. The rest of the team I'd start the same.”

Strange goings on tour with the Lions in New Zealand. What a try that was by Sean O'Brien eh? but after that 30-15 defeat in Auckland, Lions coach Warren Gatland says the All Blacks illegally targeted scrum-half Conor Murray.

Counterpart Steve Hansen later phoned a radio station and said: "I guess he might be a bit desperate. As a New Zealander, I would expect him to know the New Zealand psyche. It's about playing hard and fair."

Hamilton fury after action-packed GPpublished at 08:26 British Summer Time 26 June 2017

    F1

What an extraordinary Grand Prix it was in Azerbaijan, involving three safety cars and several crashes, including clashes between team-mates. Australian Daniel Ricciardo eventually won it but it was the clash between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel that has caused all the excitement.

Vettel said Hamilton had deliberately slowed - or "brake-tested" - him.

The Briton denied that and said Vettel's driving was "disgusting" and "not sportsman's conduct".

Then there was the line: "If he wants to prove he is a man we should do it out of the car, we should face to face."
