Former England left-arm seamer Ryan Sidebottom has been giving his reaction to today's news that international cricket will return to the BBC in 2020.

He told BBC Radio 5 live's Friday Sports Panel: "I'm chuffed to bits. I think it's much needed. After the 2005 Ashes, the intake of children taking up cricket has slowly gone downhill so I think it's amazing for cricket, it's great for the players, it's great for international cricket and the fans.

"It's great for county cricket that all the players will get to showcase their talents on free to air tv. I know that I grew up watching Test matches and one day games on television and hopefully it'll grow more and more popular with the younger generation watching it on television.”

    Tennis

    Sam Smith
    Former British number one

Heather Watson will feel a little bit disappointed because she turned things around after a passive opening set and was up a break up in the third.

The plus side is she has lots of confidence, is playing well and can go into Wimbledon with this run of form behind her.

She looked like a top-20 player in the second set which is where she should probably be rather than 126.

She can play a very aggressive game in practice but seems to leave it in the locker room because she feels she needs to be careful with her shots rather than hitting them as hard as she can.

It also remains to be seen whether Keita himself is attracted by a move to the Premier League.

If Klopp, who returns to the club's Melwood training HQ to start pre-season preparations next week, and Liverpool do make their interest concrete, the fee involved will have to be well in excess of the £34m (39m Euros) paid recently to Roma for Mo Salah recently and over and above the £35m it took to sign Andy Carroll from Newcastle United in January 2011.

Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group are determined to back Klopp in the market after took them back into the Champions League after finishing fourth last season.

Liverpool are willing to pay a club record fee to bring RB Leipzig midfield man Naby Keita to Anfield.

Leipzig insist the 22-year-old Guinea international will not be sold this summer after they qualified for next season's Champions League.

Keita has been touted as having a £70m price tag, although he has a £48m release clause in his contract that can be unlocked next summer.

Liverpool have yet to make a bid for Keita but manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer and the Anfield hierarchy look certain to test Leipzig's determination to keep someone who has been a central figure in their success with a firm offer.
