Andy Murray arrived at Wimbledon this morning having not practised since Tuesday - pulling out of two exhibition matches in the process - because of a sore hip. At around 9.30am, his coach Ivan Lendl told the BBC that Murray was "doing great" and after 10am the defending champion began hitting with Belgium's Steve Darcis on the Aorangi Park practice courts.
The pair moved over to match court 9 at 11:00 BST, in full view of the media and ground staff. Murray looked reasonably comfortable as he and Darcis exchanged groundstrokes, but in between he limped heavily, bent over and grimaced.
The world number one then took part in some volleying and serving drills, appearing to reach close to full intensity. He continued to move gingerly and grimace, but he did not hold back. Between serves he was seen joking and smiling with Lendl, who also spent a period in deep conversation with Wimbledon chief executive Richard Lewis.
Murray left without taking any questions from the written or broadcast media. He is due on court for the third time back at Aorangi Park at around 13:00 BST.

"I don't have to play a role at this football club. I can be exactly the man that I am," he says. "We will have to adapt to the Premier League, but we will not change our footballing philosophy. That makes no sense."

Sprint king Usain Bolt believes his German doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt will fix the world record holder's back problems in time for his swansong at August's world championships in London.
Bolt will see his long-time physician after suffering a stiff back in the build-up to his 100m run at the Ostrava Golden Spike meeting on Wednesday, which he won in a, by his standards, modest 10.06 seconds.
"I am going to see my doctor now so I know he will fix every problem," Bolt told reporters. "Then all I need to do is train hard and get myself into some shape."

Image source, Press EyeThe Irish Premiership's top two teams are both claiming to have signed former York City defender Josh Robinson.
Belfast clubs Linfield and Crusaders made announcements on Twitter late on Thursday announcing the capture of Robinson, who is 24 and from the city.
Robinson spent one year with York after joining them from Crusaders.
Linfield stated the player had agreed a four-year deal, while Crusaders said he had signed a three-year contract which had been recorded with the Irish FA.
The matter is likely to be sorted out on Friday with clarification being sought from the IFA.
It is understood Robinson trained with the Crusaders squad on Tuesday night.
But we are none the wiser...

*Watson 1-3 Wozniacki
Caroline Wozniacki looks like a force to be reckoned with here at Eastbourne, having already broken Heather Watson's second service game in this semi final. The British number two's frustration is written all over her face.
Having said that, Watson has found some amazing shots down the line and keeps pushing her opponent on every point. She is not going to let Wozniacki take this without a fight...

The Rams have rejected a bid of about £7m for the 25-year-old.

It has been a busy day at Premier League newcomers Huddersfield and here are some thoughts from chairman Dean Hoyle, who is delighted manager David Wagner has agreed a two-year contract extension.
"We'll stay humble; we've got to remember who we are. We're here for the first time in 45 years on merit. Being realistic David could have gone to the Premier League had that penalty not gone in. Happily we achieved it together
"David has remained loyal to the club and that means a lot to me. He hasn't signed earlier because he's been on a sun bed!
"We are going to spend more money than this club has ever done and give it a good crack."
