    Laura Kenny tells BBC TV: "Italy qualified well yesterday so you just never know what people are going to bring in the final. It's great to see and it certainly pushes us to go quicker. It's a great feeling.

    "What I compare myself to is Rio, and it seems a long way from that at the moment [my form]. For me now, I'm not quite there yet, but I feel more like myself."

    That was a great team effort but Katie Archibald was outstanding there.

    Italy completely fell apart there. They had worked so hard to keep the British team under pressure, which was the only option they had. It was a courageous ride from them.

    It was a very fast last kilometre from the British team.

    Britain's team pursuit bronze medallists speaking to BBC:

    Ethan Hayter: "Yesterday we went out too slow. We were capable of going quicker but messed it up. Then we went out too quickly in the semi-finals. This was a lot more controlled."

    Charlie Tanfield: "It is easy to get too carried away at the start but we learnt a lot from the experience and we can try and move forward from it."

    Steven Burke: "I think there is a lot to improve on other this winter. We have good building blocks and it's looking really promising. It is a young average age in the squad so it's a nice mixture of youth and experience."

    Kian Emadi: "It is always nice to get a medal. When qualifying doesn't go to plan you approach each ride as if you're going to win. We can take some positives."

    At least Great Britain lost out to the overall gold medallists. Italy beat GB in the semi-final and have just eased to a win over Switzerland to take the gold.
