After finishing fourth, Aimee Willmott tells BBC TV:

"If I'm being honest, I would have liked to swim slightly faster than that.

"I can only do as well as I can. It's a shame that I couldn't quite get one of those medals, but I'll take it."

Ukraine's Mykhaylo Romanchuk is 1.77 seconds ahead of the rest of the field - he has tried to pull ahead and create a gap.

Reacting to her bronze medal, Hannah Miley tells the BBC: "It was really hot in the pool, very hot for Glasgow!

"It's a great atmosphere to be part of as well. There's a new generation and wave coming through. It's great that she [Lesaffre] it's someone to target for Tokyo.

"To come away with a medal is really, really nice."

There's no British interest in this final but 2016 silver medallist Henrik Christiansen is hoping to go one better as reigning champion Gabriele Detti missed out with a shoulder injury.

I imagine this crowd will give Hannah Miley a fantastic cheer on the podium. We don't yet know whether it'll be her last meeting.

It was all about the breaststroke for Hannah Miley. She pulled back into contention in that third 100m but Aimee Willmott couldn't keep up with the pace.

What a great swim from Lesaffre. She set a time that frankly the others couldn't touch.

No gold medal for the Brits but Hannah Miley fought hard to get a place on the podium. It was a stunning swim from France's Fantine Lesaffre.

18-year-old Italian Ilaria Cusinato takes the silver and Britain's Hannah Miley bronze.

Aimee Willmott has to settle for fourth.

Lesaffre leads the young Italian Cusinato but Aimee Willmott is starting to drop off the pace. Hannah Miley is in third and catching them up. She really has to dig in on the freestyle.

You cannot write Hannah Miley off, with this crowd, if she can be in a good position.

The two British girls really need to pick this up.

So good, so far from Hannah Miley and Aimee Willmott. Backstroke done and now it's onto the breaststroke.

This is where Miley really puts the pressure on.

Aimee Willmott prefers not to put too much pressure in to the first length.

It's butterfly down the first straight. Aimee Willmott is a very good fly swimmer but went out slowly in the heat this morning. She has done a similar thing tonight.

Here we go. Britain's Hannah Miley in lane two and Aimee Willmott in lane five. The home crowd went wild when they came into the pool but can they deliver the goods?

Hannah Miley was a nearly person for lots of years. We've seen her at so many major championships and we've been waiting for her to get it right.

Hannah Miley speaking to BBC after finishing third in her heat: "Once I went onto the freestyle I knew I just needed to do enough to get to the final.

"It is all to play for tonight. I do try and do my research on each of the athletes I am up against. We are getting another wave coming through now which keeps people fresh and competitive.

"The whole feeling brings back the Commonwealth Games so I'm glad to have a home crowd. Me and Aimee [Willmott] are in the final now so it could be really exciting."
