    Men's 10,000m final

Germany's Richard Ringer, who is the fastest man into this final, looks like he is cooked.

There was talk that he could have picked up an injury.

Yep. He is done. Just short of 7000m and he trots off the track with an apologetic wave to the home fans.

All of the British trio are in the leading group and well placed.

It's not a really outstanding field. And with the heat here in Berlin, it levels the race even more.

The pack is moving quicker than we expected though.

    Men's 10,000m final

There is all sorts of fun and games in the early stages of the 10,000m final with Spain's Juan Perez pressing the pedal early doors in some hot conditions.

Turkey's Kaan Kigen Ozbilen is off the front now with the field strung out. Britons Alex Yee, Chris Tomlinson and Andy Vernon are in midfield, hunkering down and hoping the early burst of pace come back to bite some of the front runners.

    Just over 5000m to go.

Reigning champion David Storl is ranked second in Europe this season.

The German is playing catch-up on Michal Haratyk though.

The Pole dominates the European rankings this year – he has seven of the top eight throws this year among athletes from the continent.

No British representative in this one.

No doubt about the one to watch in this one.

Katerina Stefanidi is the current world, European and Olympic champion.

But Great Britain's Holly Bradshaw is only two centimetres behind the Greek this season. Her team-mate Molly Caudery, who finished fifth at the Commonwealth Games at the age of 18 in April, is also in the field.

Unfortunately Caudrey has already seen her campaign come to an end. She fails to clear 4.35 and, with a previous best of only 4.20m in the competition, is out of contention for a final slot.

She needed to be in the top 12 or clear 4.55m.

Bradshaw and Stefanidi are yet to enter the competition.

Frenchman Morhad Amdouni finished fifth in that race, but is the second fastest man on the continent.

The other Briton in the final is Alex Yee. Make yourself comfortable for this, his tale is a doozie.

The 20-year-old is actually funded by British Triathlon and won the World Junior Duathlon in 2016.

But his 10,000m speed is such that he is faster than Sir Mo Farah was at the same age and able to double up across the sports.

He is the fastest Briton into this final, the sixth best in Europe this year and an outside shot for a medal.

Farah carried off the European 10,000m title in 2010 and 2014.

Chris Thompson (below) took silver behind Farah eight years ago, Andy Vernon did the same four years ago.

It is Poland's Wojciech Nowicki - who came into the competition with the best two throws of the year - who beats compatriot world champion Pawel Fajedek.

    His winning throw is 80.12m.

Hungary's Bence Halasz takes bronze. GB's Nick Miller was down in 10th.

"I've asked a lot of myself and I am pleased with the results. I can't complain, it has been a good year. I might have to help the boys out in the relay heats because the schedule isn't great. I am ready to do whatever needs to be done."

He started this evening session in fourth place overall. He is heading north of that once all the maths is done and, with world champion Kevin Mayer having failed to register a jump in the long jump earlier this afternoon, he has a decent shot of a medal.
