That motored by. The Patriots are within striking distance after yet another first down.

They have 114 yards of offense. Kansas are -11.

But, the Rams had a stinker of a first quarter in the early game...

The Patriots make it look easy at times. They just move the chains, time after time. Back in sight of the end zone again. Second down.

Massive noise at Arrowhead as Tom Brady and the Pats offense come back on to the field. We saw Jared Goff struggling to contend with the noise in New Orleans - I say struggle, they still won - but Brady apparently has a 'noise friendly' play sheet tonight.

Third down - they convert again. All about James White.

Home advantage for the Chiefs would be massive against any other team - but not against New England.

When you have reached the AFC Championship game for the eighth year in a row there is nothing you haven't experienced.

  6. What happened when they met in the regular season?published at 00:02 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2019

New England Patriots 7-0 Kansas City Chiefs

The last time these two teams met there were points, and lots of them!

That meeting came in week six of the regular season and produced an 83-point thriller which saw the Patriots secure a narrow 43-40 victory in Foxborough to end the Chiefs' five-game winning streak.

In that meeting, Patrick Mahomes threw for 352 yards and four touchdowns but still came out second best as he also threw two interceptions.

Despite throwing just one touchdown pass, Tom Brady's 340 yards through the air helped Bill Belichick's side come out on top as rookie running-back Sony Michel added 106 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

More of the same tonight please guys...

Sacked! Patrick Mahomes is ground into the dirt and it's a big loss too. Kyle van Noy with a big play and Kansas' first drive ends up with a punt from near their own end zone. The Patriots will be in a good position...

Andrew Priestley: This could be a passing of the torch moment between Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, sporting history loves to throw these stories up on the biggest of occasions. Think back to Federer beating Sampras on Centre Court at Wimbledon as an example.

Patrick Mahomes' first throw of the game is incomplete - to nobody - but there's a flag on the play!

A penalty and an automatic first down. Nice shot in the arm. Both players are literally steaming out there. Absolutely freezing conditions.

I never bet against New England but I just feel like this could be the Chiefs' time.

What can the Chiefs find now then? They have had a hell of a season. Already on third down as the Pats defence stuffs the run.

The Chiefs have outscored their opponents 49-0 in the opening quarter of their last four games. Not bad!

That's gone out of the window but this is what Patrick Mahomes can do...

Eight championship games in a row - that's just ridiculous! With all the parity in the NFL, with all the ups and downs, this team has been that consistent to win that many games year-in, year-out.

    It's an incredible achievement.
