Gregory Mandapat: Most of America, except for the New England area north and east of Massachusetts and Rhode Island and perhaps Colorado and their Denver Broncos fans, are rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs. Spygate, Deflategate just a couple of reasons why

Menacing opening drive from the Pats. They have been here and done it so often. They are usually at home in the championship game though which may have a bearing.

The Pats are already in gear as Brady finds Rob Gronkowski. The Gronk is an absolute NFL legend as well. Lots of tales that he may retire at the end of the season, he's almost uncoverable.

New England Patriots 0-0 Kansas City Chiefs

While Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is playing in his first Championship game, Tom Brady is appearing in the Conference finale for the 13th time.

The 41-year-old has made more appearances in the Conference Championships than any other quarterback and finds himself above some very illustrious company in the top five.

In fact, Brady is the only player on that list not to be in the Hall of Fame, but it's safe to say it's just a matter of time before we see him joining them in Canton.

It's going to be cold. Too cold for me!

Both of these teams are very used to playing in the cold but it's fast, explosive guys who are affected the most by cold weather. You can't spring, your joints are tight - and that's the sort of players who Kansas have.

The Patriots are a power football team. The cold doesn't matter. We'll see how it plays out but the weather could be a significant factor.

For all the brilliant offensive play we've seen from NFL teams this season, no team has been more entertaining to watch than the Chiefs.

A large part of that has been down to the success of superstar second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whose partnership with head coach Andy Reid has proved a match made in heaven as the Chiefs finished the season with an AFC-best 12-4 record.

Kansas City averaged an NFL-best 35.3 points per game as they secured the number one seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

The Chiefs have largely relied on their success with the ball for much of the season, but produced one of their best defensive displays to see off an in-form Indianapolis Colts team last weekend.

Although they did not score any touchdowns in the air, Mahomes threw for 278 yards and was one of four different players to find the endzone on the ground in the 31-13 win.

While the Chiefs are playing in their first Championship game since 1994, the Patriots are in familiar territory.

After all, it's the eighth consecutive season that New England have reached this stage of the playoffs, with Bill Belichick's winning machine looking to reach the Super Bowl for the third year in a row.

Despite slipping to two defeats in their first three matches of the season, it was largely business as usual for the five-time Super Bowl champions as they ended the regular season 11-5 to secure the AFC East crown and the number two seed in the Conference.

Their first action of the post-season came last weekend as Tom Brady and co. scored five first-half touchdowns to beat the LA Chargers 41-28 and book a showdown with the number one seeds.

New Orleans coach Sean Payton on the disputed call at the end: "The officials felt that the players arrived at the same time as the ball did and it wasn't interference. It's a tough way to lose a game. It's all the more reason why we need more replays. We had a chance to get to the Super Bowl.

"Credit to the Rams. It's disappointing. I told the guys, you may never get over this."

The thing about the Patriots is that they started the season slowly, and we were worried about them, but they have evolved to be one of the best teams. They are the best versions of themselves right now, it's been amazing to see.

Harrison Short: Robbery. That ridiculous call in the last minute of Q4 was everything. Let’s just hope the Patriots lose so tonight doesn’t get any worse

Andrew Priestley: It’s going to get ugly in New Orleans! The Saints fans are not going to take this one lying down after one of the worst referee calls in recent memory. Massive credit must go to the Rams for winning in the Superdome & to Jared Goff in particular for those last two drives.
