New York Giants 7-10 Minnesota Vikings

I mentioned that the pressure was on Daniel Jones and the new Giants QB sure does deliver, an absolute peach of a throw, under duress, over the defence and perfectly floated into the hands of rookie Darius Slayton.

    Just superb.

  3. Bears interceptedpublished at 18:45 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Oakland Raiders 7-0 Chicago Bears

Is this the Bears defence or the Raiders?

Tarik Cohen rushes to the right but comes to an abrupt halt as three Raiders tackle him at the same time and slam him to the deck.

From the next play a poor throw by stand-in quarterback Chase Daniel is picked off by Nicholas Morrow.

It's only the Raiders' second interception of the year, putting them in possession at the Bears' 24.

    Carolina Panthers 14-7 Jacksonville Jaguars

The Panthers are dealing without Cam Newton pretty well - primarily because of that man Christian McCaffrey, who has his second TD of the night already!

He's receiving this time, a catch and run, spins away from a tackle and makes it in. Unstoppable!

  5. TOUCHDOWN!published at 18:41 British Summer Time 6 October 2019
    Breaking

    Oakland Raiders 7-0 Chicago Bears

And they're in. The Raiders draw first blood with Josh Jacobs claiming the first touchdown at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Jacobs runs right up the middle, showing some neat footwork to get over from 12 yards and cap a fine drive by Oakland - 10 plays over 90 yards. Daniel Carlson adds the extra point.

  6. Postpublished at 18:38 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

New York Giants 0-10 Minnesota Vikings

Pressure on Daniel Jones after his dream start for the Giants. The Vikings open up a 10-point lead as Kirk Cousins does the defence with his eyes and then finds Adam Thielen in the corner of the end zone. Beauty of a throw.

  7. Postpublished at 18:37 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Oakland Raiders 0-0 Chicago Bears

Promising signs now for the Raiders. Josh Jacobs rushes for 21 yards before tight end Derek Carrier makes a 20-yard grab.

They get up to the Bears' 17-yard line by the end of the first quarter.

    Pittsburgh Steelers 7-10 Baltimore Ravens

All going on today, with so many games at once it's hard to keep up!

The Ravens scored first with Mark Ingram rushing over, but the Steelers respond straight away, star wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster making a mug out of an attempted tackle as he breaks through to score.

That AFC North matchup is off to some start.

  10. No good!published at 18:30 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

Washington Redskins 7-6 New England Patriots

Brady to Edelman - Touchdown. You've all seen it so many times.

Here's what we're not used to though, Pats' veteran kicker Stephen Gostkowski is injured and stand-in Mike Nugent - 37 himself - misses the extra point!

  11. Postpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Oakland Raiders 0-0 Chicago Bears

Not much doing there for the Bears either, and they have to punt after 31 yards from seven plays.

  12. Intercepted!published at 18:27 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

Philadelphia Eagles 14-0 New York Jets

This looks horrible for Jets' QB Luke Falk as he's picked off for an interception TD, but it's brilliant play by Nathan Gerry, reads it, cuts off the pass and takes it all the way.

    Nightmare start for the Jets...

  13. Postpublished at 18:24 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Cincinnati Bengals 3-7 Arizona Cardinals

Welcome to the game, Kyler Murray! The Cardinals' #1 overall pick shows what he's all about, rushing in from QB to score.

  14. Postpublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Oakland Raiders 0-0 Chicago Bears

Play resumes and the Raiders manage to make 39 yards before having to punt it after 10 plays.

By the way, just heard that Raiders linebacker Vontaze Burfict is to appeal against the decision to ban him for the season on Tuesday.

  15. Spurs curse?published at 18:21 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Oakland Raiders 0-0 Chicago Bears

What is it with Tottenham and dislocated elbows?

Yesterday their goalkeeper Hugo Lloris suffered one a couple of minutes into their defeat at Brighton. Now Nick Williams suffers one a couple of minutes into the first NFL game at Tottenham's new stadium.

  16. Pats trail!published at 18:21 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

Washington Redskins 7-0 New England Patriots

Well then! The Patriots are behind as the best defence in town gets undone down the touchline.

There doesn't appear to be a gap for Steven Sims but he finds one alright - takes it 65 yards to the house!

  17. Minshew at it again...published at 18:19 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Carolina Panthers 7-7 Jacksonville Jaguars

Gardner Minshew is the real deal isn't he?! Certainly looks that way. The Jags QB with another brilliant play, connecting with DJ Chark for a stunning TD. What a response!

  18. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 18:18 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Oakland Raiders 0-0 Chicago Bears

Oh my. Be warned, the replays look pretty nasty! Akiem Hicks' left arm gets caught between two men and looks a right mess.

Early reports are he's dislocated his elbow...although, to be fair, you don't need to be a medical expert to see that.

  19. Eagles off to a flierpublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

Philadelphia Eagles 7-0 New York Jets

Jordan Howard burrows in to score for the Eagles.

  20. Postpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 6 October 2019

    Houston Texans 0-7 Atlanta Falcons

Silence in Houston as Mohamed Sanu opens the scoring for the Falcons. Remember, the Falcons are 1-3 so far.
