  1. Get Involved - Who's your MVP?published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

    #bbcnfl

Ian Whitehouse: Would love to see Josh Allen win MVP but I think Rodgers already has it sewn up. Interesting the Chiefs are resting all their stars when they’ve an extra week off anyway.

The big question is, what happens when Henne throws 6 touchdowns and 400 yards, as the Chiefs destroy the Chargers. Then Mahomes returns and they get blown out by the Bills in the play-offs.

  2. field goal

Field goal Seahawkspublished at 22:08 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

San Francisco 49ers 0-3 Seattle Seahawks

The San Francisco 49ers have had to stage this game at Arizona's State Farm Stadium due to Covid-19 restrictions in California.

And after four punts from the game's first four drives, Seattle open the scoring with Jason Myers' 36-yard field goal.

  3. field goal

Field goal Texanspublished at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

    Houston Texans 3-3 Tennessee Titans

Ka'imi Fairbairn has a nice little 24-yard chip shot to level things up in Houston. Tennessee have a play-off place in the bag but they'll want to win the division and get a home game first up.

  4. touchdown

Touchdown Packerspublished at 22:03 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Chicago Bears 7-7 Green Bay Packers

Green Bay level it up right at the start of the second quarter, with Aaron Rodgers finding Robert Tonyan for a three-yard touchdown to cap a drive lasting over seven minutes.

  5. touchdown

Touchdown Cardinalspublished at 21:54 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Los Angeles Rams 0-7 Arizona Cardinals

Now then, we were expecting one inexperienced quarterback in LA with Rams back-up John Wolford filling in for Jared Goff after he broke a thumb last week.

But now Chris Streveler is out there for the Cardinals after Kyler Murray, who came in carrying an injury, hobbled off after being sacked on the game's first drive.

Wolford's very first throw is then intercepted by Jordan Hicks, and on his second play after coming into the fray, Streveler shovels it off to Jonathan Ward, whose arcing run puts him over for an 11-yard touchdown.

  6. touchdown

Touchdown Chargerspublished at 21:52 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Kansas City Chiefs 7-7 Los Angeles Chargers

Said this could be high scoring as Justin Herbert answers for LA by hitting Donald Parham Jr with an eight-yard touchdown strike. The rookie Chargers QB has been a star despite his team sitting on 6-9 going into this game, big things will be expected of him next season.

  7. touchdown

Touchdown Bearspublished at 21:50 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Chicago Bears 7-0 Green Bay Packers

Solid start by Chicago. David Montgomery punches it into the endzone from two yards to cap a 14-play drive on the game's first possession.

  8. touchdown

Touchdown Coltspublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

    Indianapolis Colts 7-0 Jacksonville Jaguars

This shouldn't really be a problem for the Colts, and they've started in confident fashion with Philip Rivers hitting T.Y. Hilton for a six-yard score. That combination is coming together at just the right time.

  9. touchdown

Touchdown Saintspublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Carolina Panthers 0-7 New Orleans Saints

The Seattle Seahawks need New Orleans and Green Bay to lose to have a chance of claiming the top seed in the NFC Conference.

But the Saints have taken an early lead against the Panthers, Drew Brees finding Jared Cook for an 18-yard touchdown.

  10. touchdown

Touchdown Chiefspublished at 21:44 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Kansas City Chiefs 7-0 Los Angeles Chargers

No Mahomes no problem for the Chiefs as veteran Chad Henne finds Byron Pringle for the opening touchdown of what could be a high scoring encounter here.

  11. Titans eye titlepublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

    Houston Texans v Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans clinched a play-off spot before their game even kicked off. They still want that AFC South title though, which they can seal with a win in Houston.

The 10-5 Titans need to beat the 4-11 Houston Texans to clinch the AFC South ahead of the Indianapolis Colts. The best way to do this is to hand the ball off to running back Derrick Henry as often as possible.

With 1,777 rushing yards this season, Henry is 223 short of the magical 2,000 mark, which may seem a lot but he's had 200-yard games the last two times he's faced Houston, who currently have the second-worst run defence in the league.

If they pound the rock with Henry the Titans will be safely in the post-season shake-up, and we saw how dangerous they could be last season.

  12. Win-and-in for NFC West rivalspublished at 21:37 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Los Angeles Rams 0-0 Arizona Cardinals

It's a win-and-in showdown in LA for these divisional rivals, with the winner assured of a play-off place. The Rams could still sneak in if Chicago lose to Green Bay but they'll want to make sure themselves.

And they'll fancy their chances after winning the last seven games in a row against the Cards and with Kyler Murray struggling somewhat with a leg injury, he'll be hard pressed to beat this impressive Rams defence.

  13. The late gamespublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Here's the other late games which have just kicked off...

    • Chicago Bears v Green Bay Packers
    • Denver Broncos v Las Vegas Raiders
    • Indianapolis Colts v Jacksonville Jaguars
    • Kansas City Chiefs v Los Angeles Chargers
    • Los Angeles Rams v Arizona Cardinals
    • San Francisco 49ers v Seattle Seahawks

  14. Full-time - Dolphins blown outpublished at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

    Buffalo Bills 56-26 Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins had their destiny in their own hands, but they fluffed their lines in the biggest way possible as Buffalo piled up a half-century against them as they claimed the second seed in the AFC.

Josh Allen showcased his MVP credentials and Isaiah McKenzie ran in three touchdowns in a devastating first half burst before the Bills ran away with it.

The result means that the Tennessee Titans have clinched a play-off spot, while Miami now need the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars to beat the Indianapolis Colts to sneak in.

  15. Chiefs right to rest starters?published at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Los Angeles Chargers

    Chad HenneImage source, Reuters

The defending champions have started veteran quarterback Chad Henne instead of Patrick Mahomes tonight and other stars such as Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Travis Kelce and Clyde Edwards-Helaire will all get little to no action against the Chargers.

They've already sealed top spot and have next week off, so that will make it a three-week break by the time their full team takes to the field again - could that mean some ring rust when they finally enter the white hot play-off battle?

    Time will tell.

  16. Instant rematchpublished at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

    Cleveland Browns 24-22 Pittsburgh Steelers

The Browns break their streak after beating the Steelers, and their first play-off game since 2002 will be against...the Pittsburgh Steelers!

Pittsburgh will have a host of starters back and will host the game, but Cleveland will be riding high after finally ending that much talked about play-off drought.

  17. Full-time - Giants down Dallaspublished at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

New York Giants 23-19 Dallas Cowboys

It was a win-and-almost-in for the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys, and it was Big Blue who came out on top in a tough grind to give them a chance of taking the NFC East.

They now need Philadelphia to beat Washington in the late game to win the division and make the play-offs.

What we do know is that it's been a woeful season for new Dallas coach Mike McCarthy, who will have big questions to answer if he's to get the chance to turn it around next season.

    Buffalo Bills 56-26 Miami Dolphins

A mere consolation for Miami as Malcolm Perry takes in a 25-yard touchdown pass from Tua Tagovailoa.

  19. Full-time scores - early gamespublished at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

While we wait for the last of the action from Miami and New York, here are the scores from the other early games...

    • Cincinnati Bengals 3-38 Baltimore Ravens
    • Cleveland Browns 24-22 Pittsburgh Steelers
    • Detroit Lions 35-37 Minnesota Vikings
    • New England Patriots 28-14 New York Jets
    • Tampa Bay Buccaneers 44-27 Atlanta Falcons
  20. Turnoverpublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

New York Giants 23-19 Dallas Cowboys

What a time for Xavier McKinney to grab his first interception of the season, as he picks off Andy Dalton in the end zone and the Giants take over with just over a minute left to play.
