  1. Get Involved - Who's the MVP?published at 18:06 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

    #bbcnfl

Quarterback Lamar Jackson was last year's Most Valuable Player for the regular season after leading the Baltimore Ravens to the best record of 14-2, with Patrick Mahomes named the Super Bowl MVP after leading the Kansas City Chiefs to victory.

But who is this season's MVP? Both Jason and Osi have gone for Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. How about you guys? Let us know by using #bbcnfl on Twitter.

  2. 'Nobody wants to play the Ravens'published at 18:05 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Cincinnati Bengals v Baltimore Ravens (18:00 GMT)

    Osi Umenyiora
    Two-time Super Bowl winner

Nobody wants to play the Ravens. They are going around absolutely crushing people. Lamar Jackson is back on form but it's mostly down to that defence and that running game. If they continue to play like this, they are peaking at just the right time.

  3. Browns aim to end play-off droughtpublished at 18:03 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Cleveland Browns v Pittsburgh Steelers (18:00 GMT)

The Pittsburgh Steelers were leading the way this season with the longest unbeaten record - before losing three straight games.

They produced a thrilling second-half fightback last week to end their losing streak with victory over the Indianapolis Colts and secure the AFC North title.

With a play-off spot secured, they have opted to rest a few starters this week, including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and defensive machine TJ Watt.

Is it time for the Browns to end the longest active play-off drought? Cleveland haven't played in the post-season since 2002.

  4. 'These two teams hate each other'published at 18:01 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Cleveland Browns v Pittsburgh Steelers (18:00 GMT)

    Osi Umenyiora
    Two-time Super Bowl winner

The Cleveland Browns have everything to play for; the Pittsburgh Steelers have nothing to play for. But, these two teams absolutely hate each other, they can't wait to get their hands on each other, so there are going to be some fireworks. Do not think the Pittsburgh Steelers will just lay down for the Cleveland Browns because they will not do it.

    Osi and Jason's NFL predicitions

Our NFL pundits Jason Bell and Osi Umenyiora have made their predictions on tonight's games, including the crunch clash for the Browns in the AFC North. Here's how the guys called it...

Jason: This is another tough one to call but, because I think the Steelers are going to rest their starters, I'm going with the Browns because it's must-win for them.

Osi: I'm going with the Steelers. I don't think they're going to rest their starters because, with the way they have been playing, they need the practice.

  6. Play-off seedings - as it standspublished at 17:57 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

There would be some tasty match-ups if positions stay as they are, and on the face of the records the AFC looks the strongest with the possibility of a team finishing 11-5 and still missing out - that'd be just the third time ever that had happened.

Tom Brady's Tampa Bay will want to stay in that fifth seed as they play the eventual winner of the painfully poor NFC East, while in the AFC we could get an explosive rivalry game between the Steelers and Ravens.

    AFC

    1. Chiefs (14-1)
    2. Bills (12-3)
    3. Steelers (12-3)
    4. Titans (10-5)
    5. Dolphins (10-5)
    6. Ravens (10-5)
    7. Browns (10-5)

    NFC

    1. Packers (12-3)
    2. Saints (11-4)
    3. Seahawks (11-4)
    4. Washington (6-9)
    5. Buccaneers (10-5)
    6. Rams (9-6)
    7. Bears (8-7)

  7. Who will be top seed in the NFC?published at 17:56 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Usually the top two seeds in each Conference get a first-round bye in the play-offs, this year it's only one so grabbing that number one spot has never been more important.

Over in the AFC we know that the Kansas City Chiefs have locked up top spot, so will have next week off and play at home throughout the play-offs, but over in the NFC, three teams still have a shout, with the 12-3 Green Bay Packers just needing to beat Chicago to stay top.

The New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks are both lurking just behind on 11-4 and needing the Packers to slip up to give them a chance of finishing as the top seeds.

  10. Who gets into the NFL play-offs?published at 17:49 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

Whether you're an NFL rookie or a veteran fan, it's always good to have a recap of how exactly the play-offs work, so here goes...

There are 32 teams in the NFL split into two Conferences, with each Conference split into four divisions of four.

Seven teams from each Conference reach the play-offs so the winner of each division....they're in! They're then seeded 1 to 4 based on their regular season record.

Then the three wildcard spots in each Conference go to the three teams with the best overall record of all remaining teams. They're seeded 5, 6 and 7, and must all play during next week's wildcard round - the first week of the play-offs.

The top seed in each Conference gets a bye to the Divisional round and home advantage throughout the play-offs. The defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, have already secured the AFC spot.

  12. Down to the wire...published at 17:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 January 2021

No time for New Year celebrations in the NFL, even if they were allowed to, as we enter the final week of regular season action when play-off spots will be decided.

After 16 weeks of blood, sweat and tears it all comes down to the final games tonight and there's still seven of the 14 places in the new expanded post-season dance to play for.

Five into four doesn't go in the AFC where there's one decent team sure to miss out.

Top spot is still up for grabs in the NFC along with two wildcards and, in contrast to the AFC, one pretty poor team will punch their play-off ticket as the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and Washington all have a chance of winning the NFC East title tonight.

We'll be bringing you live updates on all the action as we discover who's in and who's out.... so strap yourselves in because this will be fun.
