Will Tom Brady claim Super Bowl ring number seven?

Or will Patrick Mahomes collect his second?

If he does, could the Kansas City Chiefs go on to create a dynasty to rival that of Brady's former charges the New England Patriots?

Questions aplenty - but the answers will be revealed in time. A fortnight's time to be exact.

  7. Buccaneers to face Chiefs in Super Bowl - read the reportpublished at 03:47 Greenwich Mean Time 25 January 2021

Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face reigning champions the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 55 on 7 February.

Quarterback Brady, 43, threw three touchdown passes to help the Buccaneers defeat the Green Bay Packers 31-26 in the NFC Championship game to reach their first Super Bowl in 18 seasons.

The Chiefs then beat the Buffalo Bills 38-24 at Arrowhead Stadium to seal the AFC Championship, thanks to touchdowns from Mecole Hardman, Darrel Williams, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and two from Travis Kelce.

Super Bowl 55 will take place at the Buccaneers' Raymond James Stadium and it will be the first time a team have played in NFL's showpiece at their home stadium.

As a result of Covid-19 restrictions, only 22,000 people will be at the match, with 7,500 places reserved for health care workers, who have been given free tickets.

That, of course, is one for another time. Two weeks' time, to be precise.

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are locked at 2-2 in their four head-to-head meetings to date.

As we alluded to, Brady won the biggest of those four meetings - will Mahomes gain retribution on the grandest stage of all?

We'll have to wait to find out - in the meantime, let's revisit what we've seen tonight as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs sealed their Super Bowl berths.

Jarleth Eaton: Mahomes now moves to 6-1 in the post season with his second straight AFC Championship win. The only quarterback to beat him in the playoffs? Tom Brady.

Extra spice - if any was needed. That Brady victory came with the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game in January 2018.

So it's the Super Bowl many neutrals wanted - the GOAT vs the Baby GOAT.

Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who will be the first side in history to enjoy home advantage in a Super Bowl, on 7 February.

A quarterback who holds virtually all the NFL records versus a quarterback who holds virtually all the records for performance over the first four seasons of a career.

FT: Buffalo Bills 24-38 Kansas City Chiefs

A second successive Super Bowl appearance for the Kansas City Chiefs.

It was never really in doubt once they turned a 9-0 deficit into a 21-9 lead during the first half.

They were always able to keep Buffalo at arm's length from there.

The Bills just could not handle the Chiefs' triple threat of Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and double touchdown scoring tight end Travis Kelce.
