Sam Quek, who'll be presenting on BBC TV later, has just been chatting pitchside to BBC pundit Jason Bell.

"This is what we've missed!" he beams.

"It's all about the fans, all about the atmosphere. This is such a special place."

That man Kyle Pitts...can't cover him! Matt Ryan rolls out again and Pitts shows the speed and elusiveness of a wide receiver that's just too much for the Jets to be able to cover him.

It's a first NFL touchdown for Pitts but it will by no means be the last!

  3. Great play!published at 15:04 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

Back-to-back completions from Ryan and that man Cordarelle Patterson comes down with it inside the five yard line.

  5. Ryan to Pitts...againpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

An 18-yard pick-up with Kyle Pitts running from the slot and being found by Matt Ryan - you just can't cover this rookie!

  6. First downpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

Ryan showing why they call him Matty Ice as he stays so cool under pressure with a little pump fake buying him enough time to fire a ball over the middle to move the chains and collect a fresh set of downs.

  7. Postpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

The Jets defence swarming all over Atlanta early on with the Falcons backed up by the own end zone after a bad error on the punt return.

Patterson comes back into the game though and instantly makes an impact with a strong run close to a first down.

See up there? Like, right up there, by the Tottenham cockerel statue?

That's Broadway singer Marisha Wallace performing the American national anthem earlier. Always makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

That was swiftly followed by a flyover which caught me unawares and nearly made my eardrums bleed. A real assault on the senses all that. I've only just regrouped.

  9. Three and out for Jetspublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

Zach Wilson is game isn't he! He takes off on a run, even lowering his shoulder into contact - that's not really what you want to see from your rookie QB.

Then on third down he deflects a bad snap, gathers it up again then rolls out to his left and fires a sideline pass to Jamison Crowder who did look to have caught it at first but it's ruled incomplete.

There's only so much you can do at QB as the Jets have to punt it away.

  10. Here comes Zach Wilsonpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson is looking to become the first rookie quarterback to win a game in London and the first to register multiple touchdown passes in an international game, including London, Canada and Mexico.

  11. Concussion concern for Cordarrellepublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

As mentioned, the Falcons are without top wide receiver Calvin Ridley - and they finished that opening drive without Cordarrelle Patterson.

Patterson, who scored three touchdowns against Washington last week, is being examined for a possible concussion after taking a hit early on here.

That will be a huge worry for Matt Ryan, whose offense is already down to its bare bones.

Can't beat a bit of NFL razzmatazz - but this was spectacular...

  13. field goal

Field goal - Falconspublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

Nothing doing in the end zone for Matt Ryan so the field goal unit runs out and Younghoe Koo boots through a 31-yarder to give Atlanta the early lead.

That's a six-minute drive of 62 yards in 14 plays from Matt Ryan and Atlanta, a promising enough start.

  14. No Ridley for Falconspublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-0 Atlanta Falcons

    Ben Collins
BBC Sport at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Calvin Ridley is one of the poster boys for the London games after producing career bests of 90 catches and 1,374 yards last season to supplant the since-departed Julio Jones as Atlanta's top wide receiver.

But fans won't see the 26-year-old star in the flesh today as he didn't travel "due to a personal matter". How will the Falcons' offence manage without him?

  15. Falcons closing inpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-0 Atlanta Falcons

A short pass up the middle for Kyle Pitts is completed - I did say watch for the rookie. The Falcons in the red zone as they get a first down on the Jets' 11-yard line.

  16. Kane watching onpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-0 Atlanta Falcons

Spurs and England skipper Harry Kane is a big NFL fan - and he's happy the gridiron is back in his backyard...

  17. Postpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-0 Atlanta Falcons

Some trickeration now from Atlanta as Patterson takes the hand-off from Matt Ryan and the running back then looks to throw, but under pressure has to chuck it away.

Patterson is a wide receiver/returner turned running back so I suppose why not let him throw it as well!? Total (American) football.

  18. Going for it on fourth downpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-0 Atlanta Falcons

A big sign from the Falcons as they go for it on fourth-and-one and it's just a give to Cordarelle Paterson who barges to the first down and a bit extra in a powerful run from Atlanta.

  19. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 14:41 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-0 Atlanta Falcons

Matt Ryan is drilled by Quincy Williams as he lets a deep ball fly and that draws a 15-yard penalty on the Jets defender as he landed with his full weight on the quarterback.

It looked a fair enough hit to me, it certainly wasn't late, but then I'm a bit more old school about defence in the NFL and quarterbacks are a protected species these days.

  20. First downpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

New York Jets 0-0 Atlanta Falcons

Mike Davis was brought to Atlanta for exactly this type of play, a run right up the gut to get the first down. A touch of the angry run about that as Davis pumps those big legs and takes a few Jets tacklers with him.
