  1. field goal

Field goals galorepublished at 18:15 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

Nothing doing on offense for Washington after that interception so they have to settle for a 45-yard Dustin Hopkins field goal to lead 3-0 over New Orleans.

Washington's NFC East rivals Philadelphia have fallen behind, 3-0 to a Carolina field goal.

Miami make it a quickfire field goal treble to nudge ahead in Tampa Bay before Detroit and Minnesota join the kicking party, tied at 3-3 in the all NFC North clash.

  2. touchdown

Touchdown - Steelerspublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Denver Broncos 0-7 Pittsburgh Steelers

Well, we kind of wrote hm off beforehand, so naturally Ben Roethlisberger, who is an avid reader of our live NFL texts when he's not playing, just had to answer us back with a 50-yard TD to put Pittsburgh ahead.

Diontae Johnson is the receiver who takes in the catch as Heinz Field goes nuts after Big Ben's bomb from halfway.

  3. Turnover - for Washingtonpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    New Orleans Saints 0-0 Washington

The Saints lost to NFC East opposition in the form of the New York Giants last week and they have started badly against the Giants' divisional rivals Washington.

Jameis Winston chucks up a pretty easy pick for Cole Holcomb.

  4. touchdown

Touchdown - Titanspublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Tennessee Titans 7-0 Jacksonville Jaguars

If you had the Titans down for the first touchdown of the night then well done, but you weren't the only one!

You probably didn't have it down as a defensive TD though did you? And that's exactly what it was as Kevin Byard picked up a Dan Arnold fumble and took it to the house.

At least Trevor Lawrence gets the ball back right away...

  7. Can Packers beat the Bengals?published at 18:03 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

Green Bay Packers v Cincinnati Bengals

Two 3-1 teams clash in Cincinnati in what could be the game of the night with a mouthwatering match-up between the MVP Aaron Rodgers and former No.1 draft pick Joe Burrow.

The Packers haven't won here since 1998 and they've injury issues to deal with on defence that won't help them cover Burrow's top receiver Ja'Marr Chase - an exciting rookie who has made an instant impact in the NFL.

  8. Will the bell toll for Big Ben?published at 18:02 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Denver Broncos v Pittsburgh Steelers

Since the NFL is in London this week let's talk about Big Ben - Ben Roethlisberger that is, Pittsburgh's veteran quarterback who looked every one of his 39 years during an ugly loss to the Packers last week.

Denver's defence will not give him a warm welcome and with the Steelers already under pressure in their division it may not be too long before they think about a change.

Roethlisberger could still pull out a big performance of course, and he did enjoy a landmark 400th touchdown pass last week.

  9. Darnold to continue fast start?published at 18:01 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Philadelphia Eagles v Carolina Panthers

The Panthers lost their unbeaten record last week and will be without star running back Christian McCaffrey, but their quarterback Sam Darnold may be able to pick up the slack...

He actually leads the entire NFL in rushing touchdowns this season after making a remarkable start to his career in Carolina.

  12. Can winless duo break their ducks?published at 17:52 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

    Detroit v Minnesota & Tennessee v Jacksonville (18:00 BST)

After four weekends of NFL action, only two teams remain without a win - the Detroit Lions and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Both face divisional games tonight as they bid to open their account for the season.

Jared Goff's Lions visit 1-3 Minnesota hoping for their first win, while the Jags and #1 overall draft pick Trevor Lawrence - London-bound next week to face the Miami Dolphins - host the Tennessee Titans.

Can Lawrence claim his first NFL win tonight after the Jets' #2 overall draft pick Zach Wilson achieved that feat last weekend?

  13. Brady back at homepublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

Miami Dolphins v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady is back in Tampa after his emotional return to New England last week, but he's not always enjoyed playing Miami and the Dolphins have beaten the GOAT more times than any other team (12).

He has beaten them 23 times though.

Miami head over to London after this to play their other Florida rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars - they will have a betetr chance of beating them than these Bucs.

Their one chance appears to let back-up QB Jacoby Brissett throw the bal about with the Bucs really beat-up in their secondary.

  15. Falcons hold on to beat Jets in Londonpublished at 17:42 British Summer Time 10 October 2021

The Atlanta Falcons held on for a 27-20 victory over the New York Jets as the NFL made a jubilant return to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Falcons were in control at half-time, with touchdowns from Kyle Pitts and Hayden Hurst helping them into a 20-3 lead.

Ty Johnson got into the end zone at the start of the second half to give the Jets hope, and they got within three points as they followed Michael Carter's touchdown with a two-point conversion.

The majority of a boisterous UK crowd, relishing the NFL's return to London after the pandemic forced last season's international series to be cancelled, hoped for a field goal to take the game into overtime.

But Mike Davis ran in Atlanta's third touchdown of the day to ensure the Falcons, who have had a nasty knack of throwing away big leads, did not add another to the collection, improving to 2-3 for the season.

A big win for Atlanta, who move to 2-3 in the NFC South.

The Jets slip to 1-4 in the AFC East. Surely another rebuilding season for them.

The penalty is against the Jets for illegal formation so no drama for Atlanta.

Matt Ryan takes the knee and the Falcons close out a victory that was not without its scares.

Ultimately, the Jets paid the price for a poor first half in which they allowed Ryan to run the show to an extent.

Some Falcons errors and an improved showing from those in white and green, including rookie quarterback Zach Wilson, got the Jets back in it but Atlanta put the game to bed with a key, lengthy fourth-quarter drive.

That should be that. Zach Wilson dodges one tackle, two but not the third. He's sacked, the Jets lose 20-odd yards. Field goal attempt incoming.
