    While we're all waxing lyrical about Rodgers and Adams, Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase show us a another glimpse of what could be just as good a partnership for years to come, with the rookie showing laser focus to collect a big pass from Burrow and run away for a 70-yard TD.

    Chase is having a stellar rookie season and the college connection with his former team-mate is as strong as it ever was, and the Bengals are being proved right to have drafted him for a college reunion with Burrow.

    Question: How do you stop Aaron Rodgers throwing a TD pass to Davante Adams from close range? Could be a trick question that as I'm not sure there's an answer.

    Rodgers can put it on a dime, and Adams, well, his jump off the line is remarkable and his feet can take him in any direction in the blink of an eye. From there, he's got a leap and strong, strong hands - he's the ultimate receiver catching passes from the ultimate QB, what a team!

    Oh, and that's TD pass number 422 for Rodgers - putting him fifth on the all-time list, buy still some way behind....

    Things going from bad to worse for the Eagles, who have struggled to get anything going offensively in Carolina.

    Backed up near their own line, a poor snap does not help Jalen Hurts and he's sacked for a safety in the endzone - indeed he's lucky the Panthers did not recover fhe fumble for a touchdown.

  6. A couple of field goals to update you on - Carolina Panthers have stretched their lead over the Philadelphia Eagles to 13-3 while Detroit Lions have closed their deficit to 13-6 at half-time against Minnesota.

    Joe Burrow takes a heavy fall after being upended by a diving hit as he scrambled trying to make a first down. There's some concern as he landed head first but this kid is one tough hombre and he gets up and jogs off the field.

    He'll take a trip to the blue tent on the sideline though just to check he's alright.

    Detroit Lions 3-13 Minnesota Vikings

    Alexander Mattison is credited with the Minnesota touchdown in the all NFC North affair after a bustling, tackle-breaking run.

    But it was very much a collective effort, several of his team-mates basically driving him over, rugby maul style, from close range to convert the fine run into a score.

    The Patiots thought they'd scored a touchdown, and it was signalled a TD on the field when Damien Harris ran in again, but the ball was just punched out of his grasp just before the line.

    The replay chalks this one off and Houston still lead.

    Alvin Kamara has levelled up matters in America's capital.

    Looks like the extra point has been missed, though - one of many such misses tonight.

    Utility quarterback/receiver Taysom Hill was carted off on a buggy after that earlier hit - at least he was sat up and appeared not too shaken up.

    That latest TD under pressure has put the Buccaneers back on top against Miami.

    Tom Brady was being crowded by at least two Dolphins defenders yet managed to squeeze a pass out to Antonio Brown at around midfield.

    From there, though, it was all about Brown, the wide receiver racing half the length of the field for a stunning 65-yard touchdown.
