Field goal - Falconspublished at 17:08 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Carolina Panthers 0-3 Atlanta Falcons

  2. 50 up for Allenpublished at 17:06 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Miami Dolphins 0-0 Buffalo Bills

The Bills have the ball first, and it's a landmark for Josh Allen with this his 50th career start.

He has 109 total touchdowns in 49 games and needs three to match Johnny Unitas and Deshaun Watson for third-most ever in their first 50 games.

With 27 rushing TDs, he needs one more today to match Cam Newton on 28 for the most ever by a QB in their first half-century of NFL games.

That is not how you want to start the game if you are Chuba Hubbard and the Carolina Panthers. Deion Jones knocks the ball loose on the first play from scrimmage and the Falcons recover.

  5. Ja'Marr Chase-ing historypublished at 17:00 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Cincinnati Bengals v New York Jets (17:00 GMT)

Rookie Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase has more receiving yards (754) than any player in history in their first seven NFL games, thanks largely to his connection with his former college QB Joe Burrow.

Chase had another 200 yards against the well-fancied Ravens in Baltimore last week in a statement victory for Cincinnati that suggests they could be much more serious Super Bowl contenders than their odds suggest.

The Bengals are now top of the AFC North on 5-2 and today face a New York Jets defence that ranks just 25th against the pass – that spells trouble.

The Chicago Bears may not have the best team in the NFL this season but it's hard to beat the atmosphere and location of their Soldier Field stadium, right on the shores of Lake Michigan.

What a spot for a game of gridiron!

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen came as a golfer for Halloween, Phil Mickelson to be exact, and Mickelson responded in typical fashion.

You have to say, Mickelson might actually beat Allen out in the calf stakes though...

  11. Bills back with a bang?published at 16:47 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Miami Dolphins v Buffalo Bills (17:00 GMT)

    Image caption,

Buffalo Bills fans have had the upper hand over Miami in recent years...

It’s six defeats in a row for the Miami Dolphins - who have also lost six in a row against divisional foes Buffalo (by a combined 232-112), including a 35-0 shutout earlier this season.

The Bills lost their last game in Tennessee before having a bye week to stew over that defeat so will come out an angry side eager to prove they're still top dogs in the AFC.

Miami have been to London and back but still can't win a game, and although Tua Tagovailoa is back, he's still having nightmares about this Bills defence after they knocked him out of the first meeting with bad ribs while sacking him and back-up Jacoby Brissett six times.

That and the fact the Dolphins are the worst defence in the league, allowing almost 420 yards per game, and you can see why it might be another long day at the office for Miami. No wonder Buffalo fans are in confident mood.

  12. Divisional battle in Atlantapublished at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Carolina Panthers v Atlanta Falcons (17:00 GMT)

Sam Darnold looked like somewhat of a revelation as the Panthers started the season 3-0. At one point the former New York Jets quarterback even led the league in rushing touchdowns. But with four straight losses, and Darnold benched for PJ Walker towards the end of last week's 25-3 blowout loss at the hands of the New York Giants, all of that promise has seemingly evaporated.

The Atlanta Falcons needed a last-second kick from Younghoe Koo to get past a struggling Miami Dolphins team. It sealed back-to-back wins over AFC East opponents following their victory over the New York Jets in London. While those are games you would probably expect the Falcons to win, it doesn't make the results any less important. Sitting at 3-3, a win today could crack the door open on a play-off push.

Atlanta will be without top wide receiver Calvin Ridley, but tight end Kyle Pitts had breakout performances against the Dolphins and Jets and is primed for another big performance here against a faltering Panthers team.

  13. Get Involved - King Henry the MVP?published at 16:41 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Tennessee Titans v Indianapolis Colts (17:00 GMT)

    Media caption,

NFL: Jason and Osi disagree on whether Derrick Henry is the league's MVP

    Speaking of Derrick Henry....

The NFL MVP award is usually the domain of the quarterbacks, but Henry must be in consideration if he continues in this sort of form, as he's running down the rest of the league at will.

He's only 131 yards short of his fourth straight 1,000-yard season, and that's with 10 games left!

The 27-year-old is on pace to make history by recording back-to-back 2,000 rushing yard seasons for the first time ever in the NFL, while he's also chasing Eric Dickerson's single-season record of 2,105 yards - if he achieves both then surely an MVP will follow.

Could Henry be the MVP this season? If not, who will win it instead? Let us know by using #bbcnfl on Twitter,, external or hit thumbs up for Henry, thumbs down for A.N. Other.

  14. Titans to strengthen grip on AFC South?published at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Tennessee Titans v Indianapolis Colts (17:00 GMT)

    Derrick HenryImage source, Reuters

The Indianapolis Colts came up with a huge win in torrid conditions against the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday. It moved them to 3-4 on the season and kept their slim play-off hopes alive.

The early part of the season was a real grind for the Tennessee Titans as they struggled to find any rhythm. But those struggles seem to be behind them as they have picked up two big wins against the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs. Those wins have moved them to 5-2 along with the Cincinnati Bengals and Las Vegas Raiders for the joint best record in the AFC.

But how can we talk about Tennessee and not talk about Derrick Henry? The former Alabama star can become the third player in NFL history to have over 1,000 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in his team's first eight games of the season. The other two are NFL Hall of Famers Jim Brown and Terrell Davis.

The Titans came out on top when the two teams met earlier in the season and with the offence finally hitting their stride there could be another big win on the cards for Mike Vrabel's team.

  15. Week eight so far - Packers end Arizona's unbeaten startpublished at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Green Bay Packers 24-21 Arizona Cardinals

Week eight kicked off with a cracking game on Thursady Night Football, which saw the Green Bay Packers end the NFL's last remaining unbeaten record as they held on for a 24-21 win at the Arizona Cardinals.

The hosts looked set to snatch victory with 15 seconds left but Kyler Murray's pass towards AJ Green was intercepted in the end zone by Rasul Douglas.

Green Bay's seventh straight win sees them join Arizona on a 7-1 record. Now the teams are set to battle it out for the NFC Championship - and a place in the Super Bowl - in the post-season.
