  1. touchdown

    Touchdown - 49erspublished at 19:06 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

San Francisco 49ers 15-16 Chicago Bears

They've been knocking on the door and after being stopped a couple of times, this time the 49ers get in and it's QB Jimmy Garoppolo who decides to take it himself and produces a nice drop of the shoulder before diving over the line face first for the score.

Jimmy G showing he's also got wheels as well as rookie Trey Lance, who many think should be starting already for San Fran.

One man the Niners wish wasn't starting is kicker Joey Slye, who misses the extra point after also missing a field goal earlier - to leave the 49ers behind by a point.

  2. field goal

Field goal - Pantherspublished at 19:05 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Carolina Panthers 12-10 Atlanta Falcons

Make that another Zane Gonzalez field goal. The Panthers have once again moved the ball well and this time get into the red zone.

On third down Sam Darnold has a receiver open in the end zone but is under pressure and has to throw it away before he can find anyone in a Panthers jersey.

They say you can't win with field goals but the Panthers seem determined to try.

  3. touchdown

Touchdown - Ramspublished at 19:02 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Los Angeles Rams 31-0 Houston Texans

It is too easy for the Rams offence. This touchdown is set up by a long catch and run by Van Jefferson for 68 yards.

After a run on first down is stuffed, Matt Stafford finds his favourite target and the NFL's leading receiver Cooper Kupp for 11 yards and the touchdown is Kupp's ninth of the season.

Some concern for Jefferson, who came up limping after his big play.

  6. field goal

Field goal - Bearspublished at 18:59 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

San Francisco 49ers 9-16 Chicago Bears

Cairo Santos makes a 25 yarder to increase Chicago's lead and now we'll see if the Niners can actually get something moving in this third quarter.

  7. touchdown

Touchdown - Titanspublished at 18:59 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Tennessee Titans 21-17 Indianapolis Colts

    The Titans take the lead!

Ryan Tannehill caps off a long eight minute drive with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Nick Westbook-Ikhine.

That was the sort of drive the Titans have become synonymous with as they were able to grind down the Colts defence on their way to that score.

  8. touchdown

Touchdown - Eaglespublished at 18:57 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Philadelphia Eagles 24-0 Detroit Lions

Chalk this one down as another Lions loss as they slip 24-0 behind thanks to a second rushing TD of the game for Boston Scott.

Detroit have been so close in a few games, but they've been nowhere near in this one.

  9. ouch!

What a hit by Harris!published at 18:53 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Carolina Panthers 9-10 Atlanta Falcons

This is one going to hurt for some time. Sam Darnold looks deep over the left side for the speedster Robby Anderson and as the wide receiver gets his hands on the ball, Erik Harris looks like he his shot out of a cannon and hits Anderson flush in the chest, knocking the ball loose.

Anderson is slow to get up and is attended to by the Panthers medical staff.

  10. touchdown

Touchdown - Brownspublished at 18:52 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Pittsburgh Steelers 3-10 Cleveland Browns

He exploded onto the scene in his first start last week, and now D'Ernest Johnson has provided the breakthrough for the Browns with a 10-yard touchdown rush.

It's an icredible story of him just getting to the NFL and now he's doing his best to show he deserves to be here!

  11. ouch!

Derrick Henry limpingpublished at 18:50 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Tennessee Titans 14-17 Indianapolis Colts

Something to monitor in this second half is the health of Derrick Henry. He is notorious for grinding down defences with big runs and hits but he looks to be lacking his usual burst.

He was seen earlier in the first half with his shoe off, being attended to by the Titans' medical staff. After a run on second down he was seen gingerly making his way off the field.

Andrew Priestley: Remember the OBJ one-handed catch from a couple of seasons ago? Keelan Cole has just picked an absolute beauty out of the sky for the Jets. It’s a travesty that they’ve overturned that grab!

Click here to see that Odell Beckham catch once more.

  13. Early games - half-time scorespublished at 18:40 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Away teams first

    • Cincinnati Bengals 17-14 New York Jets
    • Tennessee Titans 14-17 Indianapolis Colts
    • Los Angeles Rams 24-0 Houston Texans
    • Miami Dolphins 3-3 Buffalo Bills
    • Carolina Panthers 9-10 Atlanta Falcons
    • San Francisco 49ers 9-13 Chicago Bears
    • Pittsburgh Steelers 3-3 Cleveland Browns
    • Philadelphia Eagles 17-0 Detroit Lions
  14. touchdown

Touchdown - Jetspublished at 18:40 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Cincinnati Bengals 17-14 New York Jets

This time the Jets DO get their touchdown and again it's a fine effort, this time from Braxton Berrios as he takes another diving catch from a Mike White pass for an eight-yard touchdown.

Justice probably served here as the half ends 17-14 to the Bengals.

  15. field goal

Field goal - Coltspublished at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

HT: Tennessee Titans 14-17 Indianapolis Colts

It has been a rollercoaster of a first half at the Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts will feel that their lead going into half-time should have been bigger.

As it is they will have to settle for a three-point lead as Michael Badgley converts a 34-yard field-goal attempt as time expires in the half. This game is shaping up nicely.

  16. Best non-touchdown of the daypublished at 18:35 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

Cincinnati Bengals 17-7 New York Jets

What have we just seen from Keelan Cole!? The Jets wideout has taken a diving, twisting, one-handed catch in the end zone for what looks like possibly the touchdown of the season, but on the replay the officials rule that the ball has become loose, even though he doesn't drop it, and it's ruled out.

    As a neutral that's a horrible call!

  17. field goal

Field goal - Pantherspublished at 18:29 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

HT: Carolina Panthers 9-10 Atlanta Falcons

Kicking field goals on the road is not usually a recipe for success, but that's what the Panthers have had to settle for so far today.

They have been able to move the ball well around the middle of the field but too many drives have stalled out. This time Zane Gonzalez was good with a 57-yard attempt.

The Panthers go into the half down by one.

  18. That's ugly!published at 18:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Miami Dolphins 3-3 Buffalo Bills

That's an absolute horror show from the Dolphins offence, with the ball snapped against Mike Gesicki as the tight end is in motion and the rebound hits the deck and is recovered by Buffalo for the turnover.

Miami looked guaranteed to get three points, would loved to have scored seven, and ended up with zero! No wonder they've lost six in a row.

  19. Missed field goal by the Texanspublished at 18:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

HT: Los Angeles Rams 24-0 Houston Texans

When you are a struggling team, things just don't go your way and this is no different. The Texans' best drive of the day sees them get into field-goal range in just 28 seconds.

It looks like they are finally going to put some points on the board but Ka'imi Fairbairn misses wide right from 45 yards and that is how the half will end.

  20. Sacked - Watt gets to Mayfieldpublished at 18:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2021

    Pittsburgh Steelers 3-3 Cleveland Browns

TJ Watt is a scary prospect for any QB, let alone one with a fracture in his patched-up shoulder like Baker Mayfield, who takes a heavy sack from the Pittsburgh pass rusher and let's his offensive line know about it right after!
