  1. Kirk stumbles for first downpublished at 04:10 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

On first down, Lawrence scans the field and finds Kirk on a checkdown, and he keeps his feet turning upfield for the first time.

He is on hand again on second down, this time making a catch past the first-down marker before being pushed out of bounds. The Jaguars are moving.

  2. Chargers challenge unsuccessfulpublished at 04:08 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

After a first down run by Travis Etienne, Doug Pederson opts to throw on second down. Trevor Lawrence finds Marvin Jones Jr, just past the first down marker but there are doubts over whether he has completed the catch.

Brandon Staley throws the challenge flag and is unsuccessful, the Bolts are down to their last timeout.

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence is sacked on first down and as he hits the floor, Kyle van Noy stands on his left thumb, which draws blood.

He heads to the sideline briefly during a penalty announcement and wraps it up with some black tape. The penalty was pass interference and a first down for the Jags.

  4. Field goal missedpublished at 04:01 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

On third-and-three Justin Herbert is able to extend the play but cannot find anyone downfield. There is a holding penalty against the offence that Doug Pederson opts not to enforce.

The gamble pays off as Cameron Dicker - usually so reliable - misses the 40-yard field goal attempt and it is still a 10-point game.

Momentum is starting to swing in Jacksonville's favour.

Anyone fancy covering Zay Jones? No? OK, just let him walk into the end zone then...

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

The Chargers are responding to the Jacksonville surge very well on this drive. It has been over five minutes long and is extended on third-and-short as the blitz is picked up and Herbert finds Keenan Allen for the first down.

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

On third-and-nine the coverage for the Jaguars holds up. But the pass rush cannot get home and Herbert is able to step up through the pocket and use his legs to pick up a first down as they cross into the Jaguars half of the field.

  8. That's ugly! - Personal foul on the Jaguarspublished at 03:49 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

Justin Herbert is swallowed up on second down but there is a personal foul for unnecessary roughness as Josh Allen shoves the Chargers quarterback to the floor after the whistle.

The call is met by boos from the home fans.

  11. Chargers overcome false startpublished at 03:47 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

The Chargers open the fourth quarter with a false-start penalty to leave themselves second-and-15. But they respond to the noise and mistake perfectly.

Justin Herbert hits Josh Palmer from a clean pocket and it's a first down for Los Angeles.

  12. End of the third quarterpublished at 03:43 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

15 minutes left, 10 points the difference - can the Jaguars stage a miraculous comeback in the fourth quarter? Strange things have happened...

  13. Don't call it a comeback....published at 03:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

10 points is still a big hill to climb, but is there just a sign of the momentum shifting in Jacksonville? The crowd is back into the game, the Chargers are starting deep in their own territory and they've not had much change out of the Jags defence recently.

  14. touchdown

Los Angeles Chargers 30-20 Jacksonville Jaguars

Hello! Trevor Lawrence takes a shot down field and it pays off with a 39-yard touchdown strike to Zay Jones to cut the deficit even further.

They can't make the two-point conversion though so Jacksonville still trail by 10.

  15. Jags making a movepublished at 03:37 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-14 Jacksonville Jaguars

There's so much more urgency and energy about the Jags this half. Maybe the Chargers are playing it a bit soft on defence but the first downs are piling up.

  16. field goal

Field goal - Chargerspublished at 03:35 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 30-14 Jacksonville Jaguars

It's a third-down stop for the Jags so Cameron Dicker has to put some extra juice into his kicking leg to boot over a 50-yarder and increase the lead back up to 16 points.

Still technically a two-score game but it's two TDs with two-point conversions on both needed just to tie this one up now.

  17. Angry run!published at 03:32 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

    Gerald EverettImage source, Getty Images

Chargers tight end Gerald Everett is taking names on this 25-yard gain as he takes a short pass and then rumbles on powering through tackler after tackler and refusing to go down.

That takes Everett to over the 100-yard mark for the game.

  18. They can't, can they?published at 03:29 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 27-14 Jacksonville Jaguars

That's a super drive by Jacksonville - using 14 plays to go 89 yards in just over seven minutes to turn this rout into 'just' a two-score game.

They've done everything they needed to start this half, stopping the Chargers then scoring a TD - they've now got 14 unanswered points to drag themselves back into the contest.

The Jags are still big outsiders here, but you never know...

  19. touchdown

Touchdown - Jaguarspublished at 03:26 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

But the penalty doesn't matter as Trevor Lawrence finds a wide-open Marvin Jones in the end zone and it's a second TD of the game for the Jags.

  20. Delay of game!published at 03:25 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

Los Angeles Chargers 27-7 Jacksonville Jaguars

Oh no, Jacksonville are right at the goal line, but somehow they don't get the play off before the clock hits zero, so they're moved back five yards as they shoot themselves in the foot again
