  1. 'Giants' patience has paid off with Jones'published at 23:34 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

This is why you're patient with quarterbacks. Look at all the consternation across the stadium [in New York] with Zach Wilson. I don't know if it will turn out the same way [with him], but the Giants drafted Daniel Jones number six in 2019 and people were like 'Why didn't you draft Josh Allen? Why didn't you draft Baker Mayfield? You could have taken a flyer on Lamar Jackson'. Patience is showing now and he's working with a head coach who seems to be real comfortable.

  2. touchdown

Touchdown - Giantspublished at 23:29 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 24-14 Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings defence are just unable to slow down this New York offence at all.

They dial up pressure on second down with Harrison Smith but that leaves Daniel Bellinger wide open on the left side and he receives the pass from Daniel Jones before walking into the endzone.

Graham Gano kicks through the PAT.

  3. Giants break into redzonepublished at 23:27 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 17-14 Minnesota Vikings

Giants pick up where they left off to start the second half. Despite losing yards on first down they manage to make it short yardage for third down.

Daniel Jones hits Saquon Barkley short of the first down marker but Barkley has no one around him and bursts into Vikings territory.

Then Jones hits Isaiah Hodgins who gets loose down the right sideline and the Giants are in the redzone.

  5. 'It has been great to watch'published at 23:13 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 17-14 Minnesota Vikings

    Greg Brady
NFL pundit on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Fun game, it has been great to watch. What a contrast, the Giants took close to 11-and-a-half minutes on 17 plays to kick a field goal. The Vikings go down and score a touchdown in under two-and-a-half minutes.

  7. Half-timepublished at 23:09 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 17-14 Minnesota Vikings

Yet another good half of NFL play-off football, you just can't fault it so far can you?

Both sides have come out firing, going for it, and neither defence looks full capable of dealing with the threats.

The Giants had more long, power drives, while Kirk Cousins and the Vikings are a more quick-strike highlight reel offence, we'll see who comes out on top after the break.

  8. Cousins keeps slinging itpublished at 23:07 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 17-14 Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins is one of the most under pressure QBs in the league, week after week he has defenders hitting him and getting in his face - but my word he's one tough hombre as he stands in there and takes his shots while dishing out strikes to his talented receivers.

  9. touchdown

Touchdown - Vikingspublished at 23:01 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 17-14 Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota respond with a TD just before half-time as KJ Osborn finds space simply by standing still and as defensive backs fly about all around him he's left wide open to catch, swivel and walk into the end zone.

  10. First and goalpublished at 23:00 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 17-7 Minnesota Vikings

Another big catch from TJ Hockenson, who is a tight end but plays more like a giant receiver, before a sixth catch of the day for Justin Jefferson puts Minnesota in the red zone.

These two had big games in the last meeting and it seems like the Giants still don't have an answer.

  11. Two minute warningpublished at 22:57 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 17-7 Minnesota Vikings

Giants lead by 10 but the Vikings are on the move with TJ Hockenson taking a 27-yard catch across midfield and into Giants territory.

With an NFL-record 11 wins in one-score games this season, one thing we know about these Vikings is that they never know when they're beaten.

  13. field goal

Field goal - Giantspublished at 22:50 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 17-7 Minnesota Vikings

Graham Gano slots a 25-yard field goal but that should have been more as Jones dived over for a touchdown only for one of those tiny little yellow flags of doom to pull it back for a penalty.

One of the Giants had gone early on the play, and didn't need to either, and that's ended up costing them four valuable points.

  14. Trick play!published at 22:48 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 14-7 Minnesota Vikings

Absolutely love this play! It doesn't get too many yards, but the Statue of Liberty play from Jones, faking the throw out to Barkley with one hand but slipped the ball behind his back with the other to Matt Breida is pure pigskin poetry.

  15. 'Jones has the athleticism to make something happen'published at 22:46 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 14-7 Minnesota Vikings

Former Las Vegas Raiders general manager Mike Mayock on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra: Daniel Jones didn't have anything but rolls to his right. He has the athleticism to make something happen and picks up the first down with ease.

  16. Jones runs againpublished at 22:45 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 14-7 Minnesota Vikings

Is this Daniel Jones of Josh Allen? This run is crazy, as it looks like a designed run for Jones, who just jogs across the line, waiting for a block, and when he gets one he turns on the jets and strides through.

Jones is up to 72 yards rushing now - and looks a bit winded to be honest.

  17. Jones turning it onpublished at 22:41 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 14-7 Minnesota Vikings

You know, Daniel Jones has got some wheels - he doesn't always show it and sometimes doesn't always have the chance, but he's been moving superbly well here, he's deceptively shifty for a big man.

  18. 'We found a way, that's all that matters'published at 22:41 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

FT: Miami Dolphins 31-34 Buffalo Bills

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen after his side's nervy win over Miami: "We were pretty sloppy, we tried to give it away there. But it's the play-offs and we found a way. That's all that matters."

  19. First downpublished at 22:38 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 14-7 Minnesota Vikings

Great third down conversion to move the sticks for the Giants and superb awareness from Hodgins who takes a catch right in the gut from another Jones strike, and knows exactly where he is as he backs up and falls over the line to gain and gets a first down.

  20. Vikings puntpublished at 22:33 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January 2023

New York Giants 14-7 Minnesota Vikings

Solid stand by the Giants as they force a couple of incompletions as Cousins has to take off under pressure but can't find an out ball. Cousins has been under pressure all season with his offensive line not doing a great job protecting him.

It's a nice punt so the Giants will get the ball back inside their own 10-yard line.
