Right then, that's your lot for tonight as we know our final four teams still left standing in the race for the Super Bowl following two pulsating games tonight.

Joe Burrow swaggering back into Kansas City for the rematch will be brilliant, while the 49ers and Eagles have similar strengths and there'll be more brutal hitting in that NFC contest.

And of course Brock Purdy is just one win away from becoming the first rookie QB to ever play in the Super Bowl.

Refresh your memory on tonight with our report on both games and make sure you join us again next Sunday as we find out just who will battle it out in Arizona at Super Bowl 57.

  3. The final four...published at 03:04 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Championship Games set for next Sunday

We're all set now with just two games to go before the Super Bowl!

And we've got three of the same teams that made it this far last year, with the Niners losing out to the Rams last year and this time trying their luck in Phildealphia.

In the AFC we've got a rematch of last year when Joe Burrow and the Bengals marched into Arrowhead and beat Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in the own back yard.

    Revenge or repeat?

    NFC Championship Game

San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles (20:00 GMT)

    AFC Championship Game

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs (23.30 GMT)

  7. Niners tough it outpublished at 02:52 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

    49ersImage source, Getty Images

Well, that wasn't for the feint hearted that game, I think I've picked up a few bruises just watching some of those hits - that's a proper old school defensive game of play-off football alright.

Hats off to both sets of defences who played brilliantly all game, and considering how good they were fair play to both teams for actually finding the end zone.

In the end the Niners just had too much on both sides of the ball really, with a touch more variety in attack and just slightly more venom in defence, although it was close.

  8. Game over - 49ers win!published at 02:45 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

Well, that play didn't work at all - Turpin gets the first pass and is drilled right away!

San Francisco win and head back to the NFC Championship game for the third time in four years.

  9. One last playpublished at 02:43 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

Ouch! Schultz takes a 15-yard catch but he doesn't get both feet down so that gain is chalked off and with six seconds left there's one last play coming up with laterals and a lot of hope involved.

Ezekiel Elliott is lining up at centre and the 49ers take a timeout to try and figure out what in the world is going on!

  10. Postpublished at 02:39 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

Dalton Schultz gets a first down catch, but he doesn't get out of bounds going forwards to the clock keeps running and now there's only 10 second left.

  11. Cowboys have a long way to gopublished at 02:38 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

Former NFL tight end Greg Olsen on Fox: "The game plan for the 49ers is to make them run as many plays as possible, chunk plays don't really hurt you because they take time to get up and clock it."

  12. What you got Dak?published at 02:37 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

45 ticks left on the clock, Dallas on their own six yard line, what's Dak Prescott got from here?

  13. One last chance for Dallaspublished at 02:36 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

That Mitchell error means that Dallas will get the ball back as the Niners will punt it away with 51 seconds left on the clock, and no timeouts left for the Cowboys.

  14. First down mistake!published at 02:32 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

When is a first down run not such a good thing? Well, when Elijah Mitchell runs out of bounds and stops the clock, when if he'd just slid down on the field the game would be over.

It's still pretty close to being over...

  15. Two minute warningpublished at 02:28 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

As opposed to Dallas, San Francisco look calm, especially Purdy who throws on first down and completes to Kittle down the middle.

That's smart play calling too knowing the two minute warning would stop the clock anyway. Clear thinking going on under the QBs helmet but also on the sideline.

  16. Sackpublished at 02:26 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

A disaster from Dallas with Prescott just looking a little flustered and rushed now the chips are down, almost throwing a pick and then not quite finding Gallup when he'd manage to get in behind.

Then Prescott is sacked when the pass rush powers through the defence forcing a punt, which isn't well executed as they wasted far too much time getting it set up.

  17. field goal

    Field goal - 49erspublished at 02:21 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-19 San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy takes off looking for a 10-yard scramble to move the chains, but there's no way this Dallas defence is giving him that so the hosts have to settle for a Robbie Gould field goal to stretch their lead to seven points.

This is about to get tense - don't go anywhere!

  18. 49ers 'run blocking clinic'published at 02:19 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-16 San Francisco 49ers

Former NFL tight end Greg Olsen on Fox: "This has become a run blocking clinic here in the second half by the San Francisco offensive line. George Kittle can be such a game changer, such a great blocker and they use him in so many ways."

  19. McCaffrey convertspublished at 02:17 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-16 San Francisco 49ers

Christian McCaffrey is a special talent, and is a true receiver when he lines up on the outside and a true running back when he takes hand-offs.

Here he's a receiver, and clings on to a laser from Purdy to convert a third down, despite having Cowboys draped over him he hangs on to the ball. Big time play there.

  20. Postpublished at 02:11 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2023

Dallas Cowboys 12-16 San Francisco 49ers

Brandon Aiyuk collects a short pass over the middle, a staple of the Purdy offence in San Francisco, to convert on third down. One of the more underrated parts of this attack, Aiyuk is a top receiver who comes up with big plays time and again.
