Before we wave goodbye, tt would be remiss not to show Usain Bolt falling head over heels on the Beijing track again. Being as the Jamaican laughed about it, so can we. He can defy the form book, but he can't defy gravity or a photographer.

  4. Asher-Smith's star continues to risepublished at 15:10

There's plenty of great highlights to watch on the BBC Sport website, even if we do say so ourselves.

Dina Asher-Smith came within 0.02 seconds of breaking the British 200m record as she qualified fastest for Friday's final. Fancy watching that? No problem. Here it is.

  5. Cram & Johnson react to Gatlin's agent's claims of biaspublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 27 August 2015

Maybe it doesn't matter for now, all the talk of Justin Gatlin's negative impact on the sport has been overshadowed by Usain Bolt's magnificent achievements, just as most people had hoped it would.

But earlier there was a lively and passionate debate on BBC Two as Steve Cram and Michael Johnson reacted to Renaldo Nehemiah's claims that the BBC had been unprofessional in their coverage of the 100m final.

  7. Taylor out-jumps P-P-Pichardopublished at 14:55

Usain Bolt will rightly dominate the headlines for the next 24 hours or so, but let's not forget about Olympic champion Christian Taylor, who became world champion with the second longest triple jump in history.

He was eight centimetres from Jonathan Edwards' world record 18.29m, but the Britain's mark lives on for another day.

  8. It was the start which won itpublished at 14:49

Usain Bolt was out of the blocks quicker than Justin Gatlin and that must have put added pressure on the American. The world champ was able to relax down the home straight, job done in the first 100m.

  9. Bolt completes sprint doublepublished at 14:48

Another day ends with a magical dash to the line. Usain Bolt is still the king of sprinters, Gatlin tried to beat him but couldn't, a photographer attempted to kill him but failed. No-one can dethrone the Jamaican.

If you want to read about how Bolt slayed Gatlin the report is here.

There was 0.19 seconds separating Usain Bolt and Justin Gatlin, which is quite a chunk considering the American was the world leader before the race.

If there was doubt coming into Beijing, there is now none - Usain Bolt is the number one sprinter in the world.

Coming into these championships he had raced only one 200m all summer, a lackluster 20.13 secs back in May, but the six-time Olympic champion is a master of delivering on the biggest stages of all.

    Quote Message

It's great, a fourth win over 200m and it means a lot to me. I'm happy to be a 10-time World Championships gold medallist, especially when people have been saying I would lose. For me I knew I had the utmost confidence. As long as my coach is confident I'm super confident. There was never a doubt that I would win this one. I'm number one. The British people give me a lot of love and I will continue running fast. Michael Johnson stop doubting me bro.
