  1. Bekele fades in men's elitepublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

It's all change in the men's elite race.

The favourite Kenenisa Bekele was leading but, as the runners cross Tower Bridge and approach the 25k mark, he's slipped down the back.

He's dropped to the back of the group and he's fighting hard to regain his place. Kenya's Stephen Kibet is leading at the moment.

  6. Women's elite reach 30k markpublished at 10:57 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

Mary Keitany is the first runner in the female elite field to reach the 30k mark. Yes, she's slowing, but what a performance this is so far. She ran the first 30k in 01:36:05.

Hot on her heels is Tirunesh Dibaba but she's more than 30 seconds behind. She's contsantly looking behind her, too. Can she keep solid and take advantage if Keitany tires?

Alyson Dixon is still leading the British contigent in 16th, with Jo Pavey 23rd.

  12. Pavey aims for World Championship spotpublished at 10:41 British Summer Time 23 April 2017

    Women's elite race

Jo Pavey is hoping a good performance in London will help her secure a place in the British squad for August's World Championships.

If she finishes in the top two British runners, and inside the qualifying time of two hours and 36 minutes, she will be able to get a place in the squad.

Her marathon PB is two hours 28 minutes 24 seconds - which is seven-and-a-half minutes quicker than the required qualifying time.

"I've trained as hard as I could. I've had a bit more illness than I would have liked but any busy parent can relate to that and I've kept training consistently," she said.

She's currently in 24th place as we approach the 25k mark.

One of my colleagues, Gary McKee, is a selfless person who is running 100 marathons in 100 days in remembrance of his father and in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

I am frightened to run a marathon, but Gary is running 100 of them, one a day for the last 99 days. His last marathon of the 100 is the London Marathon.

    An utterly remarkable effort.
