Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV in Doha

The semi-final showed that Dina is in control, sh'es running very solid races, and she's been doing that throughout these championships.

She was in command in her semi-final. That will boost her confidence. She opened the gap more and more, and that was a world-class heat. She's in some of the best shape of her life.

The IAAF website is reporting that Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands is out of the 100m final after picking up an injury in the warm-up.

Schippers won bronze in the 100m in London two years ago but she's a two-time world champion in the 200m, and those heats are tomorrow...

If you are just joining us, America won the first World Championship gold in the mixed 4x400m relay. Such are the times, they were handed a selfie stick by the looks of things. Either that or it's a rather pointless fishing rod.

Anyway, the next entry will give you the chance to watch how things went down...

    Men's triple jump final

The two-time Olympic champion Christian Taylor watches on as his American compatriot Will Claye has one last chance to better the leading mark of 17.92m.

It's big from Claye. He gets a good board, he moves close to the winning mark but 17.66m will not get the job done.

Taylor is the golden man... again. World champion in 2011, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

Hand that man a golden bucket and spade.

Gareth Hancock: Dina Asher-Smith looking in TOP form. Confident she'll bag a medal tonight.

Lydia Wellgress: Dina Asher Smith bosses her semi-final and from the coverage it looks like the first thing she did was check the injured English Gardner is OK. What a woman

Lee Fergusson: Really good run from that Marie-Josée Ta Lou.

    Women's pole vault final

    She's done it!

With Sandi Morris just mising on her final attempt at 4.95m, Anzhelika Sidorova knows that if she clears it, she'll be taking home the gold medal.

And she does just that with a superb final run. A lifetime best and, more importantly, a gold medal.

America's Morris takes silver, with Katerina Stefanidi taking the bronze. Great Britain's Holly Bradshaw is fourth after a fine effort.

Here's a shot which shows the gap Michael Cherry opened up for the US on that final leg.

Allyson Felix, who was on leg two, now has 12 World Championship gold medals, one clear of the great Usain Bolt.

Felix, 33, gave birth in November and is back out there winning titles. Quite remarkable.

    Mixed 4 x 400m relay final

Michael Cherry of the US absolutely fizzes past the female Polish leader. Martyn Rooney is hunting a medal in fifth and is making ground but he will not make an impact.

Cherry has pulled around 40 metres clear of the field and Poland's last-leg female athlete is getting hauled in by Jamaican and Bahrain athletes.

Javon Francis gets Jamaica home in second, Bahrain are third and Rooney has Britain home fourth. Poland fifth. Their strategic move didn't come off.

Rafat Omelko opens a healthy gap on the women around him on leg two and hands over, Poland have around 30 metres. I think they've judged this quite well. Emily Diamond is in fourth for Great Britain as she gets ready to hand over to Martyn Rooney. Remember Rooney will be chasing down a woman...
