So, Ricky Hatton is backing to Carl Froch to win [1919]. It will be a slightly emotional night for the Hitman, who will see his post-War record for the highest attendance at a British boxing bout taken by Froch and Groves. It seems like only yesterday that 55,000 people were packing into the City of Manchester Stadium to watch his victory over Juan Lazcano in 2008. He walked to the ring in a fat suit that night. I doubt that will be emulated tonight!

"Only about 15,000 inside Wembley and it's already deafening. When there's 80,000 in here the roar will take your face off. A little taster of what's the come for Carl Froch as he appears on the big screen arriving at Wembley and gets roundly booed."

Former welterweight world champion Ricky Hatton: "I think we will see a Carl Froch who is determined to silence his rival. This is more than a fight for the Nottingham Cobra - it's his legacy that's on the line. Because of the way his first fight was stopped - which wasn't the worst decision I've ever seen, but not the best either - people will look at him in a different light if he loses the rematch. That makes this a career-defining fight for Carl. The chance to prove beyond doubt he deserves a reputation as a genuine great of British boxing. This leads me to believe he will come out on top."

As mentioned in the last entry, British heavyweight Anthony Joshua beat Matt Legg with a first-round knockout in the opening fight of the undercard.

The Olympic gold medallist landed a right uppercut to knock down the 38-year-old Legg in just one minute and 23 seconds, extending his record to six wins from six.

"I knew he was going to come out swinging, but I knew you can only do that for three or four rounds," says Joshua.

There's plenty more hype coming your way in the next three hours, as we count down to the first bell going at around 22:00 BST. You will be able to listen to build-up from our colleagues at BBC Radio 5 live from 21:00, and we'll also keep you bang up-to-date with the action-packed undercard.

London gold medallist Anthony Joshua has already been in the Wembley ring, beating Matt Legg.

Still to come is Jamie McDonnell in a battle with Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat for the WBA bamtamweight title, Kevin Mitchell in a lightweight world title eliminator against Ghislain Maduma, and topping the undercard is James DeGale against Brandon Gonzales. The winner of that one is likely to be given a shot at the winner of Froch v Groves. What a carrot that is!

How big is the rivalry then? Well, think Ali and Frazier, Morales and Barrera, Rocky Balboa and Ivan Drago. Then times that by two. Possibly three. That's your answer. For tonight, at least...

Why the hype? Well, put quite simply, these two men just don't get along. Carl Froch and George Groves have developed a simmering, almost incendiary, dislike of each other in the months since their last meeting back in November, when world champion Froch retained his crown with a controversial ninth-round stoppage. Now, 80,000 people will pack into the national stadium to watch them settle the score.

For one night only, large parts of the country will come to a complete standstill as thousands, possibly millions, of people stop what they are doing to train their attention on what has been dubbed the "biggest fight in British boxing history."
