"You tend to be waiting for something to be happening from Groves and the speed is coming from the challenger. Carl Froch is not doing a lot at the moment."
RyRy:, external Come on big boy Froch, bring home the bacon!

"He is nicking rounds but not nicking them big, George Groves. He is showing incredible patience and Carl Froch is simply waiting too long. Is it because he has the memory of when he was so hurt in the first fight or is it because he is convinced he can put his foot down in the coming rounds?"
The moment Froch throws a punch, Groves hits back with a powerful counter. Superb boxing nous from the challenger. The bell goes.
A superb left-right combination snaps back Froch's head. Groves on top.
Again, Groves lands with a booming shot. Froch gets on the front foot and exchanges jabs.
Froch commands the centre of the ring but Groves lands with a right hook.
Conor McLoran:, external Sounds like an incredible atmosphere

"George Groves stole it on the speed, that right hand he landed was not a fluky throw. I sense that Carl really felt that. I am still a bit surprised how wary they are of the other man's power."

"George managed to catch Carl with a couple of good right hands. Up until now we haven't seen Carl come forward but he did in that round. George nicked that round on his speed."
The bell goes and both men walk back to their corner. Again, I'm giving that round to Groves. Just about. The replays show a right hand crashing into the side of Froch's face. Ouch.
Froch hits the target, Groves counters. Froch grimaces as he wears another heavy shot.
A left uppercut from Groves misses the target. He's being more selective with his shots - trying to draw out Froch. He lands another on the jaw.
The crowd boos. This is not the lively start they expected, but Froch lands with a solid left before Groves counters. Again, Groves smiles.
Round three...and Froch sways out of a right hand. It's still relatively cagey.

"The interesting thing is that at this point George Groves can win this fight with 10 jabs around. At some point this has to change, someone has to guarantee a victory in the later rounds by forcing it now. It is not illegal to go for a walk but it isn't wise to do it in the first two rounds. One has to make statement. George is 2-0 up as far as I am concerned."
Richie Woodhall

"I said in the build-up that Carl Froch would not make the same mistakes and he's not. Something has got to give. Groves has got to get forward. I've got Froch one up."
Ollie: We talk about the atmosphere getting to the fighters, let's hope it doesn't get to the ref. Although another controversial decision would mean another rematch!
