    Chisora v Whyte

Dillian Whyte's tattoo over his left shoulder looks like it belongs on one of the All Blacks. I don't think he has the frame for rugby union if he fancies a career change.

Anyway, eyes down, serious business. The pace a little slower than the first round. Dereck Chisora goes for a swinging right but it's ducked.

These fighters are going to be done after six if you ask me. Heavyweights are not made to go at this pace for 12 rounds.

  4. Round Onepublished at 23:03 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Chisora v Whyte

Dereck Chisora paws away at his man as he tries to create some space for a shot. They near the ropes and again Dillian Whyte catches him with a sly counter. No doubt Dereck Chisora trying to do more early on. He said he would take the fight to his man but Whyte looks dangerous on the counter throughout that opening three minutes. The bell rings, no tables, ladders or chairs in the ring. Competitive, close, average.

  5. Round Onepublished at 23:01 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Chisora v Whyte

We are under way. These two large men meet early and Dillian Whyte is cornered. A shot to the body from Dereck Chisora. An early pace from the older of these two fighters but he gets clipped by a hook when he commits a little too much.

The British title was of course on the line here until the midweek news conference descended into an edition of Changing Rooms. The lure of a belt is gone - the British Boxing Board of Control saw to that - but the desire to win and set up a potential world title shot lives on.

Dillian Whyte strips down, body art on show. No emotion on the face of either man here. Will the hate boil over here? I have a feeling it is. Surely one of them has to put it aside if they are to grasp this chance. It could be their last chance...

We know a lot of you are looking forward to this scrap perhaps more than the main event. As BBC Radio 5 live boxing commentator Mike Costello said this week, the loser here has very few options in this bristling division.

A lot on the line then. Let's forget the needle in the build-up, who has the edge? Dereck Chisora has experience. He's been in the ring with Vitali Klitschko, David Haye and Tyson Fury twice.

Fury did an impressive number the second time around, switching stance to just jab away all night long using his reach. Still, surely nights like that have taught Chisora plenty.

Dillian Whyte has been in with Anthony Joshua of course. He packs power, but will he be able to get close enough?

    Did you know?

In 2012, Dereck Chisora turned down £70,000 from a sponsor who wanted to advertise on the soles of his boots during the fight against Vitali Klitschko.

"Doing that would have been like a white flag of surrender even before I stepped into the ring,” said Chisora.

“Why would I want anyone to advertise on the soles of my boots? The only time you’ll see the soles of my feet is when I’m dead. Or maybe running for a bus."

The real 'Del Boy' would have taken the money...

The eager among you will know we referenced the Great One in our opening entry tonight. It's been six months now since Muhammad Ali passed away. One wonders what he would have made of table throwing at news conferences. My guess is he'd have slickly slipped any flying furniture.

    “I’ve wrestled with alligators,

    "I’ve tussled with a whale.

    "I done handcuffed lightning

    "And throw thunder in jail."

If you need a quick Ali fill, our boxing writer Ben Dirs has put together a fine piece on Ali's interviews with Sir Michael Parkinson. Well worth five minutes of your time.

    Chisora v Whyte

Here we have two men who want a shot at a world title badly. Are they at world level? Wladimir Klitschko is ringside, David Haye is ringside, Tyson Fury is ringside, Frank Bruno is ringside. Would either of these men lace the gloves of a true champion? One of them will put a case forward tonight, one will probably know his chance is up.

    Whyte v Chisora

Now, then, up next ladies and gentlemen...

If boxing matches always lived up to the build-up then Dereck Chisora v Dillian Whyte would end up being a bit of a barnstormer.

If you didn't see the chaotic table throwing then take a look at the video. The consequence though was around £30,000 in fines for Chisora and when the pair lock horns, the British title will no longer be on the table. No pun intended.

What a cracking contest that was. If there's anyone out there who is unsure about the quality of women's boxing, they just needed to watch that fight - such brilliant quality boxing - a great advert for the women's game.

It won't be long before Katie Taylor gets a World title fight.
