Michael Buffer announces Katie Taylor as the winner. No fuss, no real celebration, just a little pose for the photographers. That was easy business, just how promoters like it early on in a pro career.

We move into the final 40 seconds. Katie Taylor will not win her second fight by stoppage as she did her first.

They grapple close, short right to the ribs from Taylor. The part, Viviane Obenauf dives in and is countered again. The story of the night. Class and timing from Taylor all the way, she picked her opponent off all the way. Lovely movement and vision to see the attacks coming.

A touch of gloves. Vivian Obenauf has some work on that cut, it only needs to last two more minutes. This Brazilian has lost just once in 10 matches before tonight but is on her way to a second loss.

A shot thrown by Obenauf and all she's getting is a left back to the face. Demoralising.

I was really surprised that the referee didn't stop to have that cut looked at in that last round.

Obenauf is proving she's a very very tough competitor there.

Katie Taylor slowly overwhelming Vivian Obenauf who will do well to make it to the end of the six rounds. Taylor lands a basic shot and Obenauf looks to go down but doesn't, Taylor even paused before launching back int.

Obenauf is quite badly cut now, a clash of heads caused it. The referee will take a look at it. One round to go.

Will we get a show late on from Katie Taylor. She pins her opponent to the ropes and starts throwing a flurry of shots. Blur-like speed but some are wayward. Viviane Obenauf is blowing like a Sunday League player after a heavy night, she's also cut now too...

I believe, and I have done for some time now, that as Katie Taylor's pro career develops, so could the popularity of women's boxing. 

She could be the Ronda Rousey of the boxing world. 

As Vivian Obenauf pivots her shoulders to change the angle Katie Taylor lands a left hook. A bit of a slappy shot but it got there.

When the pair grapple it's Obenauf who is clearly looking to fill her lungs. Taylor walks to her corner unmarked. Pass her the deckchair and maybe a cigar.

If Katie Taylor carries on like this, she will start to bring a similar atmosphere created at the London Olympics - you can't help but watch and be impressed by her.  

"Second out, round four", says the ringside announcer. 

The fans at Manchester's M.E.N are engrossed by this it seems, they know they are watching a classy operator.

A nice left jab from Vivian Obenauf and she runs in quickly sensing an unlikely opportunity but Katie Taylor breaks her heart quickly by showing she's not hurt in any way.

Obenauf visibly pleased with herself and comes forward again. Her footwork is lively but just not effective so far as she cannot get in close to muster anything of substance.

A left hook from Taylor and then she slips a shot, moving to her left. A closer round.

Another good round from Katie. She's been cool and calm and is the one picking the better punches. Taylor in total control here. 

Katie Taylor is easily slipping any of the timid Vivian Obenauf attacks and is catching the Brazilian on the way back. She can see the shots coming a week before they do.

The knockdown is the stand-out moment of that second round, a gulf in class on show.

It's been a lively start from both boxers in the first round. 

Katie Taylor does look to be the more powerful of the two but she doesn't seem to have landed anything of any significance yet. 

Thirty seconds of the round to go, left jab from Katie Taylor lands and she's out of range quickly too. Vivian Obenauf dives in and gets tagged instantly. Great speed and opportunism from Taylor, that's her round.

Here we go then, we have six rounds of two minutes in length. Katie Taylor bounces on the spot... we fight...

Both fighters in black, speed of hand on show from Taylor when in close, left, right, left cluster. Nice.  To the body next. Her opponent is blowing briefly but comes forward as we get through a minute.

Katie Taylor is no mug eh, entering the ring to Oasis in Manchester.

And she gets the big billing with legendary announcer Michael Buffer on the microphone. That's when you know you're big time, when the main man calls your name.

Vivian Obenauf smiles to show us her gumshield. She looks pleased to be here, she does know what happens next right?
