    Yafai v Concepcion

The guard is up high from Kal Yafai, he knows he just needs to defend now, tie his opponent up. He does, they break, he ties again, they break, he ties again.

Two minutes to go, he can taste the world title. High guard, throws a left, then ducks and lands a counter left. Both men have tape loose on their gloves and have to secure it.

What must be going through his head now? Will the judges be fair? Have I done enough? They tie again and as the bell sounds, his two arms are thrown aloft. Yafai's corner rush in and raise him... we go to the judges.

    Richie Woodhall
Former world champion on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Kal Yafai has gone off like a steam train at the start of every round in this fight - he gets caught with the odd good shot but for me, he has beaten a very complete fighter in Concepcion tonight.

  3. Round 11 - 'Don't get involved'published at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Yafai v Concepcion

In come the stools in the corner, just three minutes remain as the 11th ends.

This is the message from Kal Yafai's corner: "Deep breath, one round and you're champion of the world Kal. Do not give him a sniff this round, do you understand. Don't get involved with him. You'd be a fool to get involved."

All he needs to do is stay on his feet and he's world champion.

  6. Round 10published at 21:32 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Yafai v Concepcion

We have a knockdown and Kal Yafai has surely now got this sealed. Luis Concepcion looks up at him from the deck.

It was a three-shot combination, nothing all too powerful but the flurry ended with Concepcion off balance and that was enough.

Yafai's pro career began in 2007. A nine-year road done, he can see the big pot of glory he's dreamed of. The WBA world title could be coming to Birmingham.

  8. Round ninepublished at 21:27 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Yafai v Concepcion

A minute left of the ninth and Luis Concepcion is showing the stamina of a man who has had 39 fights before tonight. He's having a go and has to, as we think he needs a knockout now if it's not to be defeat number five of his career.

Kal Yafai is still bouncy on his toes, evading the danger Concepcion is trying to put on him. The bell rings, for me that round was edged by the Panama fighter but Yafai has a good lead if you ask me.

Three rounds left, world title and all the glory it brings is close. He could be Britain's 13th current world champion.

  11. Round Sevenpublished at 21:20 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Yafai v Concepcion

Yes, this is the type of warm up act we need. A world title on the line and some afters when the bell ends round seven. Kal Yafai is getting so close to a first world title at super-flyweight.

He is well on top against Luis Concepcion, a man who has already been a world champion.

As the bell sounds, Concepcion wants more. Yafai's entourage stands ringside and look encouraged. They think their man is winning the tactical and mental battle here.

    Earlier tonight

    Frank BuglioniImage source, Reuters

We already have a new British champion tonight. Frank Buglioni took the light-heavyweight honour with an epic win over Hosea Burton. Buglioni was behind on the cards going into the last round and sported a heavy cut but found a big stoppage.

We have also seen Luiz Ortiz win at heavyweight. That's 27 wins in a row for the man promoted by Eddie Hearn, who also saw another of his fighters  - Callum Smith - secure a stoppage.

  15. Benn wins again...published at 21:12 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Conor BennImage source, Getty Images

Quote of the night so far goes to Conor Benn, son of former middleweight and super-middleweight world champion Nigel.

"I want to prove I'm my father's son," said Conor,20, after clubbing his way to a first-round win over Steven Backhouse.

That's six wins from six for the prospect.

  16. Round fivepublished at 21:10 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Yafai v Concepcion

A little needle at the end of the fifth, Luis Concepcion wound up by some of Kal Yafai's tactics and he leans in with his head like a cowardly footballer would do in a Premier League coming together. No tables thrown.

  17. Pies over vegetablespublished at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Yafai v Concepcion

Former IBF world bantamweight champion Stuart Hall expects Kal Yafai to become WBA Super-flyweight champion tonight.

I'd have Kal Yafai ahead on the cards so far, remember only he can win the title here as Luis Concepcion did not make the weight.

What a blow for Concepcion. A world title yet he still elected for pies over vegetables. We've all been there pal.

Five rounds down. Concepcion coming forward but Yafai is slick and elusive, landing counters on times and picking his shots when he wants to make some of the running.

  19. We are behind schedulepublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

For those of you just joining us, I will rattle through the results we have already had but some important news for you first. It's quite simple - the event is way behind schedule.

Some guesses have Anthony Joshua arriving in the ring as late as 23:30 GMT now. That would mean Dereck Chisora and Dillian Whyte are in there at around 22:30. We have plenty of content for you between now and then though, as well as Kal Yafai, Scott Quigg and Katie Taylor updates.

Go get a brew, some biscuits and drink it in. Next up, some life coaching.

  20. Round threepublished at 21:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 December 2016

    Yafai v Concepcion

These two very lean men are setting a right pace here for the opening nine minutes. Kal Yafai ends the third with a chopping left hook which jolts his opponent's head. That was clean.

This will be a hard tempo for each man to maintain which could bring a late stoppage into play as bodies wilt.

Yafai the more accurate for now, inching towards that world title destiny for now.
