    Burns v Indongo

    Here comes Julius Indongo.

He's greeted with boos and jeers from most of the Glasgow crowd, but the Namibian remains all smiles.

Cloaked in blue, with a matching cap, there's a small pocket of fans here to cheer him on.

    He's lapping it up.

You look at Burns' record - six or seven years of title fights, a three-weight world champion, one of only three Britons to do that in the past 120-odd years... you'd be shocked if Burns walked on to one of those punches.

If Indongo was a 21-year-old with a couple of quick wins under his belt, you'd be a bit more alarmed.

He can bang but I just fancy Burns knows too much. We underestimate Burns, he's been going under the radar too long.

    There's nothing in this.

Ricky Burns weighed in at 9st 13lb, as did Julius Indongo.

The Namibian southpaw does boast a height and reach advantage, however.

He's a centimetre taller than the Scot, and that translates to a reach advantage of three centimetres.

    And here is Charlie Edwards:

"I'm feeling over the moon. I've put in a lot of hard work and I'm buzzing. I want to defend it and I want to keep it,"  the 24-year-old adds on Sky Sports.

"It's time to take a step back, listen to Adam [Booth] and take it from there."

    And that's it.

Charlie Edwards is bouncing around the ring, he thinks he got it and it's no surprise he's confident after that performance.

Iain Butcher looks on. Edwards takes it by unanimous decision.

He's the new British super-flyweight champion.

Charlie Edwards' brother Sunny says he reckons he has his hands on the British super-flyweight belt.

Less than three minutes to go in that one as they enter the final round, Iain Butcher is the man standing in his way.

"With sweat dripping from his nose and grinning broadly, he walks back to the gym to start circuit training. It's not yet 07:30."

BBC Scotland's Keir Murray ventured down to Essex to see Burns' preparations first hand.

  13. Will Indongo rue 'cut-throat' gesture?published at 22:15 British Summer Time 15 April 2017

One wonders if Julius Indongo will regret the 'cut-throat' gesture he made at Ricky Burns at the weigh-in yesterday.

Burns just smiled at the threat but it may just have given him an extra bit of motivation to put the Namibian on the canvas this evening.

    Edwards v Butcher

We're into the ninth round as Charlie Edwards looks to take the British super-flyweight title against Iain Butcher.

I reckon this is Edwards' so far, but can Butcher turn the tide?

The main event follows this one, with Ricky Burns and Julius Indongo due out about 10:30 BST.

Indongo, 34, believes he is fighting on behalf of his country and his continent, revealing the Namibian president had phoned him to wish him luck and tell him to keep his guard up.

"It's going to be an amazing night, when the impossible can become possible, things I never expected in life, whereby the world is going to know where I came from," Indongo said.

"I can promote my country at large, and believe me, the night is going to be an exciting one that nobody will ever have expected it to be.

"My talent will prove to people who I am. I will give what I have and what the world doesn't know about."

One huge left hand brought Julius Indongo to prominence.

The southpaw won the IBF title by knocking out Eduard Troyanovsky 40 seconds into their contest in December, when he was fighting outside Namibia for the first time in his professional career.

Undefeated in 21 contests, he was unfazed by the home crowd in Moscow and he also fought abroad when he competed in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Manchester's Anthony Crolla is working ringside for television this evening and may well be weighing up his chances against Ricky Burns should he decide to move up a weight division to super-lightweight.

Crolla lost on points to Jorge Linares last month in the pair's WBA world lightweight title re-match.

    "I thought he was retired."

Boxers are known for jabs with their mouths as well as their fists - and Julius Indongo did not disappoint this week when he was asked about tonight's opponent.

Ricky Burns responded by saying he will show the Namibian he is far from past it.

"He is going to find out the hard way, hopefully," responded Burns.

Four rounds into Charlie Edwards' shot at the British super-flyweight title and he's looking strong. The 24-year-old appears to be controlling the tempo.

The Surrey fighter is facing Scot Iain Butcher who, as we mentioned earlier, is unable to claim the title after failing to make the weight.
