Round 6: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Eubank finally pushes Groves on to the ropes, but the attack is a bit wild, it is a bit loose and it is certainly not too effective.

  3. Starting to take shape - Groves 3-2published at 22:40 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Mike Costello
BBC Sport boxing correspondent at the Copper Box Arena

I have it 3-2 to Groves so far. It's just now getting to what we expected. There was a lot of respect but it's not taking shape.

Round 5: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Eubank needs to become more aggressive. Groves, without wiping his energy levels out, has surely taken a number of early rounds. Once again blood is streaming down the side of the Eubank face from that clash of heads. Is that impairing his vision? Will Eubank have to gamble in the hope of forcing a stoppage before the cut is too bad.

Round 5: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Into the fifth, a nervous start. So far it's not living up to the hype.

  8. Roars of the crowd deafeningpublished at 22:36 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

    Luke Reddy
BBC Sport boxing reporter at Manchester Arena

The roars when the pair engage in a tussle are deafening.

Eubank is cut above his right eye, a trickle of blood is running down the right side of his face and as he lunges in on an attack, his blood is left on the side of Groves' head.

Round 4: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

A lead left from Eubank, a wild swinging right cross from him as well, but Groves is alert and shows some fine footwork to duck down just in time before his head got taken off.

Round 4: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

As Eubank is charging in, Groves is seeing him coming and able to pick off a punch. Groves is fighting his ideal fight at the moment. Eubank wants, and maybe needs, this to become a tear-up.

Some boos from the crowd. They want more action.

Round 4: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

That cut looks to have come from an accidental head clash. His corner have had one minute to get to work. Into the fourth we go. One quarter gone, and Groves is ahead, probably.

Round 3: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Chris Eubank Jr has only lost once in a 27-fight professional career.

That loss came to Billy-Joe Saunders, who now holds the WBO world middleweight belt, back in November 2014 at the O2 Arena in London as Saunders claimed a controversial split-decision points win with the Commonwealth, European and British middleweight titles on the line.

Round 3: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

A much better round though for Eubank, he dances forward with a left jab followed immediately with another. But is that cut going to be decisive? It is a bad, bad cut as well. Work for his corner to do.

Round 3: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Eubank lands with a big hook. That raises the noise levels a few volumes. He can't build on it though, but that is his first success of the night.

Round 2: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Now we see Eubank attack for the first time, but Groves ties his man up to stop him working.

"Let's go, let's go," shouts an anxious-sounding member of the Eubank team.

Eubank Sr said: "Where he is, he likes to be, you have to rough him and start off with your shots."

During that second, Eubank seemed to crouch down. Did he touch the canvas with his glove? There was no count.

Round 2: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Rather untidy so far from both men. Groves tries to land with a left hook, Eubank Jr tries to duck under it and it glances off the top of his head.
