Scott Lennon: Maybe I'm missing something but I can't see anything other than a Groves knockout. Agree with everything Luke Reddy said. Groves unfairly underrated because he fought the best Britain has to offer in that weight at the time.

Chris Walker: Hope it’s a good fight but in reality two very unlikable characters so can’t imagine most being too bothered either way.

Round 1: George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Groves attacks, Eubank flings out a right and lands, but Eubank was off balance when he threw it and no damage is done. A tight and tense opener with a clinch ending the round. The aggression was with Groves so that may have been enough to catch the judges' eyes.

"He is doing a lot of feigning and that is holding you back," Chris Eubank Sr tells his son.

One gone, 11 rounds to go. Maybe.

A waiting brief from Eubank, with Groves being the early aggressor. Eubank keen not to make any early, costly errors.

  7. Groves the crowd favouritepublished at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

"Reigning and defending super-middleweight WBA super champion of the world."

It's a pretty cool way to be announced. Groves, maybe surprisingly is the overwhelming crowd favourite.

  8. Eubank booedpublished at 22:18 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

Part theatre, part panto, part boxing. As Chris Eubank Jr is announced he is stood there nodding ahead in agreement that our ring announcer is getting the details correct.

He is getting booed, but that is not upsetting Eubank too much, he surely must be used to it.

George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Chris Eubank Jr wants to step from his father's shadow, but uses an old Chris Eubank Sr signature move, by jumping over the top rope to get into the ring. Great stuff. National anthems time.

An all-British world title fight in a packed out Manchester Arena. A great night for boxing, a great night for British boxing. Let's hope it lives up to the hype.

    It certainly looks the part.

George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

Both men have certainly mastered the deep, tough stare into the camera. This is some build-up. This is going to be some fight. Who have you got?

Neither of them are actually in the ring yet, instead on raised podiums. "Please step into the light" they are urged.

Colin Brown: Heart says one but my head says another

Pas: I'm going Eubank Jr on points but (stupid question) what happens if it's a draw?

    No-one mention the 'D' word.

  13. Here comes Grovespublished at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

'Saint' George Groves is announced to the Manchester Arena. It seems like he has the majority of the fans' support.

"Manchester are you ready," he says in a video shown on the screens. A nod of the head as Groves enters the arena to the sounds of Paint It Black, from the Rolling Stones before that turns into Spitfire from Prodigy.

Head down, marching to the ring like a man in a hurry. He looks ready and focused.

    Groves v Eubank

    Luke Reddy
BBC Sport boxing reporter at Manchester Arena

    Is George Groves under appreciated?

Three world title defeats - two against the brilliant Carl Froch and one against Badou Jack, who has gone on to win a world title at another weight.

Those defeats are hardly shockers? Throw in he’s beaten James DeGale and consider the fact he’s come back from adversity and for my money he’s some fighter.

In winning the WBA super-middleweight title last year against Fedor Chudinov, he also showed more than many give him credit for. I was ringside that night and I can tell you Chudinov threw some brutal shots. Groves took them and got the job done with his own savage hitting.

  16. Here comes Eubankpublished at 22:07 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

Still Dre by Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg rings out around the Manchester Arena as Chris Eubank makes his way to the ring. There are a lot of boos from the fans in Manchester. Love him or hate you, you can't ignore him.

  17. ‘This will be epic’published at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2018

George Groves v Chris Eubank Jr

    Luke Reddy
BBC Sport boxing reporter at Manchester Arena

This was the bout the World Boxing Super Series wanted, make no mistake. When the draw was made, boxing fans instantly talked up the possibility it could happen at the semi-final stage.

And the Series’ organisers got their wish. It took just seven minutes to sell out, yet fightweek has felt tame, possibly because George Groves refuses to waste energy on hyping things.

It has everything though. Speed meets power, Eubank’s unanswered questions meets a man who has faced all the sport can throw at you. I can’t help but think this will be epic.

Walkerman: Eubank Jr and Carl Froch are similar type fighters. Great engines and great chins. Can't see how Groves will outlast Eubank and he can't knock him out either. Eubank for me stoppage.

Manequinho: GG carries the size and more championship experience and my instinct is that he will take this, perhaps even comfortably. However, I think CE Jr will have the more successful career in the long run. I just feel it’s a weight division too high for him. Whoever wins this fight will win the tournament.

mrdeek: Eu will have too much pace and power for Groves. Groves will need a good chin for this one.
