Canelo noticeably isn't throwing back at this stage. Golovkin is looking very impressive, swinging away.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
Good right hook and a jab follows it from Canelo early in the 10th. Dig in lads, this is where that lactic acid kicks in with less than nine minutes to go.
Jab, right hand from Golovkin. Sweet as a nut, right on the button. Time to cover up for Canelo as that one hurt.
We have 90 seconds to go... this is brilliant... the cut on Canelo's eye is opening a little more...

I would hate to be a judge at this point. I don't know which way to go for that round. But it was a great round. I'd push it to Canelo.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez closes the space time and time again. He's not prepared to fight at distance. This is getting nastier as Canelo digs a couple home but Golovkin drives home a tasty left hook. With less than four rounds to go it's like they've decided to add some real ferocity to the superb skill we've seen so far.
They exchanged blows at one point, a left hook from Canelo arriving seconds after a right hand by his rival. No inch given.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
They work on the redness under the eyes of Gennady Golovkin while the focus across the ring is the cut above Canelo's eye. The Mexican's mother is in the crowd and we see images of her praying...
A right hand over the top from Golovkin is excellent but seconds later, a right hand from his rival pings against the temple. Brilliant stuff. Back and forth. This is the type of finely balanced tussle many expected and wanted to see...

Canelo did a great job that round. He's still got plenty in the tank. But if I was Triple G, I would definitely target that cut on his left eye with a few right hands.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
Again they are up close. Canelo is taking the jab out of things here. A left hook by him lands on the jaw. Golovkin takes it, as both these men have shown they can. Punches by the bucket load, they just drink them in.
Red under the eyes of Golovkin. He steps back for some range, flicks a jab, does the same again and this time follows it with a right which lands.
It's absorbing, it really is. A left hook from Canelo is on point.
We have 30 seconds of the round to go. Canelo walks forward, walking into the storm with no fear. He's as game as it gets.
Another close one to score. Over to our ringside pundits....

We are heading for another controversy. It's split on social media and here at ringside.

I thought Canelo came out strong but Triple G closed out that round with some fine work.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is using the left hook to the body again and again but much of it just landing on the forearm or elbow of his rival. Again late in the round both men look to steal a point. Suddenly Golovkin shows a bit more intent with a one-two.
He needs to establish range again though as he had control when that was the pattern.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
Suddenly the pattern has changed and I think this may suit Canelo. There is a lot more work going on up close rather than from range. That of course takes the GGG jab away and it was effective early on.
A jab from Golovkin pings home as they briefly separate. Up close they go again, heads touching, left hand and then a right to the body from the Mexican. Good work.
This is tight, it could still go any way. Both men showing respect, both being patient.

I definitely give Canelo that round. He's landing clean to the body and that is the key to get a shot up top that he's looking for.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
Into the final minute of the sixth. Plenty of screams in the arena. There's no doubt this round has seen them fight up close a little more. Their gloves are literally touching as they crouch close up. Late on Canelo pings a straight right and when Golovkin throws, he manages to sneak a right hand to the body.
You need abdominals to take those digs. Good job Triple G doesn't skip core day. Tight round.

We've given Golovkin the last three rounds. He's leading 4-1 in our view from ringside.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
If you are just joining us, Gennady Golovkin is in control. He's not done anything sensational but it's been solid stuff, working the jab nicely.
Round six starts and and good left uppercut from the champion gets through. They duck, their heads together up close, allowing Canelo to throw a tight left hook which catches mainly glove.
You have to say that so far, Golovkin has been defensively sound. Like Arsenal in the 90s. George Graham has been drilling him.

Triple G once again. I'd like to see Canelo change things around because he keeps doing the same shots and Triple G sees them coming.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
Alvarez ducks and weaves to look for room to throw. He can't find a lot. Will one of them try to nick this fifth round late? A solid left-right from Golovkin gets home. It's not too heavy but it's scoring.
Tiny cut above Canelo's left eye. He's second best so far, possibly 4-1 down.

This is a tighter round but Canelo is coming back into it.
Alvarez v Golovkin II
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez swings wildly with a hook and misses but he goes again and lands an overhand right from range. Good, solid shot. These two men look like they will be going nowhere though. Judges, you best be ready.
Some 90 seconds of the fifth remain, GGG leaps in with a hook and misses, Alvarez will take the chance to counter but misses also...
