As it's Christmas, it's only right we show you the tree at the foot of the Rockerfeller Building. We hope, in some small way, it makes you feel like Christmas. If not, watch the first hour of Home Alone until Fielding comes to the ring!

There was some ice skating going on earlier today, so what chance a Canelo slip at night?

  2. 'Smith defeat was a huge barrier to overcome'published at 02:58 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

Cast your mind back to November 2015 and not many people would have thought that Rocky Fielding would now be fighting at Madison Square Garden and defending a version of a world title.

He was floored three times and stopped inside a round by fellow Liverpudlian Callum Smith, who now holds the 'super' version of the WBA belt, before six successive victories has taken Fielding to the Garden.

"Defeat is a huge barrier to overcome," Fielding's trainer Jamie Moore told BBC Sport. "We have seen many fighters with massive potential, they lose a first fight and mentally can't come back. They lose an aura.I don't think we have scratched the surface, so for the next three years or so we can see an unbelievable fighter.

"It's not every day you get a phone call being offered the biggest fight in boxing.

"As soon as the call came I fancied it and I knew Rocky would jump at the chance to test himself. As a trainer I was relishing the chance to set a game plan out to beat someone who is pretty much flawless."

  3. Fielding takes in The Gardenpublished at 02:54 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Canelo v Fielding

As many of you will know, Rocky Fielding is trained by Jamie Moore. Moore's assistant is Nigel Travis and he's tweeted a little video of Fielding hiding in a corner of the arena to take things in.

He looks focused, perhaps a tad nervous.

Some of the greatest upsets in boxing history have needed the under-estimation factor with someone in one corner who gets it wrong. It has happened before. Rocky needs a bit of luck but he wouldn't be the first.

  5. 'I'll give it my shot'published at 02:49 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

    Canelo v Fielding

Rocky Fielding speaks to Sky Sports: "I'm here now so there's no other feeling, just a relaxed feeling.

"I've been out there for a look around, get a feel of it, now it's the dressing room and relax.

"I appreciate the support I've had back home. Thank you all. I'll give it my shot now a best performance."

    Canelo v Fielding

A little look inside the Rocky Fielding dressing room sees fighters including Tommy Coyle (right), Jack Caterall, trainer Jamie Moore and the man himself sat down to the left.

These must be strange times for the Liverpudlian. The sport, which he has been part if since he was nine years of age, has never felt as big as it is now.

So Amanda Serrano was called out by Katie Taylor following her win earlier. The Puerto Rican has taken to Twitter and not held back.

The 30-year-old tweets: "I feel so honored to have been mentioned so much tonight. Even from Katie Taylor lol. I’m ready!! I’m not looking to go the distance like all these Pillow punchers. Everyone talks like a killer but struggle to get people out of there. I don’t go the distance to often."

This is an unbelievable chance for Rocky Fielding, who owns the minor version of the WBA title, with the main version held by Callum Smith.

You get the sense that all Fielding can hope for is a lack of motivation or focus, that Canelo has greatly underestimated him.

  13. 'Canelo has to be sharp, focused and in shape'published at 02:16 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2018

Speaking of legendary boxer Oscar de la Hoya, he spoke to BBC Sport earlier this week and gave us his thoughts on the main event between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Rocky Fielding.

Alvarez, 28, will move up to super-middleweight, where Fielding holds a minor version of the WBA world title. The Mexican has won world titles at light-middleweight and still holds two of the four belts at middleweight.

"The fact he is moving up in weight is dangerous," said De la Hoya. "Fielding is naturally big."

He told BBC Sport: "If a fighter feels comfortable that he will win easily, against a guy who no-one knows, it can be very dangerous.

"Canelo has to be sharp, focused and in shape, because Rocky is coming in with everything and has nothing to lose.I am a little worried about this fight, but I think it will be great. Canelo has a lot on his plate - he has to deliver and that is exactly what we are going to do.

"He is still young at 28 and has a lot of great fights to come. In the end, he may be one of the top three in the history of Mexican boxing - so Canelo is on his way."

Matt_5: I will never watch another Canelo fight after watching his two fights against Gennady Golovkin. He lost all credibility in my eyes. I cant help but feel still very bitter about it all as the world witnessed it yet nothing changes. I just hope Fielding knocks him out.

Andy: Alvarez will Jab to the body a lot. Fielding will have a much greater reach and needs to keep him at range. Alvarez will have too much class but this could go the distance.

Punchy75: This one won't be Rocky story like the movie. This is a hand picked fight for Canelo after two tough fights with GGG. Rocky is going down and out and ain't getting up no matter if Adrian loves him!
