Terence Crawford is shadow boxing over a giant New York Knicks crest on the floor in the middle of his locker room (see how I used the US lingo there).

Amir Khan sits on a chair in his changing room (UK lingo) and has an associate pour water into his mouth.

The fighters remain locked away but we will get the national anthems in the ring while we wait for them.

    The British anthem comes first....

I thought wow, this would have been an amazing fight a few years ago.

If you'd given me Khan prior to his Canelo loss, I'd say this was a tough fight for Crawford.

Khan beats guys who are more complete than him with his blazing hands. But as they slow down, he's kind of limited now.

It was sad to watch him last time out. I thought this is not the Khan I have grown to know and love.

    Now he's much more hittable.

James Bamisaye: For an upset, Crawford has to be below par with Khan at his very best. Khan is fast and could be devastating but Crawford is definitely a step ahead of him. Fingers crossed but can’t see beyond a comfortable win for Crawford.

  10. Terence v Sugar Raypublished at 04:34 British Summer Time 21 April 2019

    Khan v Crawford

Terence Crawford's promoter knows a thing or two.

His name is Bob Arum and he's been around forever. At 87, he's still in the game having promoted the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Oscar De La Hoya and Muhammad Ali.

His views on Crawford are lofty, comparing him to a fighter who ruled five weight divisions.

"Anybody who knows anything in boxing knows that someone like Terence Crawford comes along very seldom," said Arum.

"The closest I know that I promoted was the great Sugar Ray Leonard. Terence reminds me of Sugar Ray Leonard.

"I'm not going to get into who would have won between those two, but Terence is really something special.

"I'm so delighted that we've been able to arrange this fight with Terence against Amir Khan, who I have always been an admirer of."

It's difficult against a switch hitter. You may make the adjustments. He may see you've made good adjustments and just switch again.

It's not just a physical challenge, it's mental. You always have that stress that he can switch any moment.

This is one of the most daunting challenges of Amir Khan's career.

His last championship fight was almost three years ago.

I have been watching back Crawford's 12 world title fights. If he fights an orthodox fighter, he starts a fight orthodox. If he fights a southpaw, he starts southpaw and then switches late in the round. One of the keys will be how Khan deals with a switch hitter.

Callum: I expect this fight to be similar to Khan v Canelo - Khan might (and will hopefully) show a flash of brilliance early on, but Crawford will show he is levels above and win comfortably. If Khan makes it into round 8, that’s an impressive performance for me tonight.

That's an interesting line in the sand Callum. I get where you're at. Anyone else have a view on what's a good night for Amir? Tweet #bbcboxing.

I can tell you Terence Crawford is throwing shots at pads right now.

Right hand to left hook, uppercut, double jab. He's getting a tune from the pads alright...

British trainer Dave Coldwell: "I was cut man in the corner when Crawford fought Ricky Burns. You can watch what you want on TV but when you're that close, you appreciate how good they are and the things that don't come across on television.

"I would lean to a Crawford stoppage later on, once he's figured him out."

Former two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi, who will be ringside with Radio 5 Live: "It's all about what Amir has left in the legs. If he can get in and out with that style, then he can cause Crawford problems."

Former world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew: "This would be an incredible win for British boxing and would breathe so much fire into Amir's career, but, like the Canelo fight, this could just be a step too far.

"It wouldn't surprise me if Amir has his moments in the fight, but I just think Crawford will be a little too good."

British promoter Frank Warren: "It's a tough, tough fight for Amir but that has never bothered him, has it? He's always been happy to get in there with the best.

"He has fast hands and great reflexes. His problem is sometimes he's a bit too brave for his own good. Its all about him maintaining a discipline and a focus.

"I hope he wins it on Saturday. My heart is for him but my head says it will be a bridge too far."
