Terence Crawford was watching tonight, is he Josh Taylor's next opponent?

He's already broken Scottish hearts once before in 2014 when he took the WBO lightweight title off Ricky Burns in Glasgow.

It might not happen again. We might not be standing here in five or 10 year talking about a kid achieving what he has done in 18 fights.

What Taylor has done tonight, he should be rewarded with all the awards at the end of this year. What a success story.

I mentioned it would be one of the great achievements by any British sportsman or woman in recent years.

Having seen it tonight, I stand by what I said. The first British fighter in the four belt era to become an undisputed champion. One of the great performances overseas by a British boxer.

It was a great fight. The pair of them showed fantastic skill. Ramirez showed amazing bravery and I think Taylor showed amazing accuracy. More than that we saw pride and desire for 36 minutes. It was a roller coaster.

If you're just in from the pub, the kebab house or from your morning run (yeah right) then:

    - Josh Taylor started slowly against Jose Ramirez

    - But Taylor floored his rival twice

    - After 12 rounds all three judges scored it 114-112 Taylor

    - Taylor becomes the first British fighter to hold all four world titles in a weight division

I think there's an audience in America for Josh Taylor now. I think there's potential for a Ramirez rematch.

These photos capture the carnage of these big fight nights.

One man down, the other celebrates and yet the man on the deck gets up and makes a right fist of it.

What heart, what mayhem, what a night.

In the end, this bout for all four belts has been decided by two punches. The mantra of 'make him miss and make him pay' was executed perfectly in the two rounds with the knock downs.

It was six-six in rounds. It was decided by a moment of brilliance in seven seconds of round six when Josh Taylor just moved to the side and countered with that left. Ramirez never fully recovered in the sixth round and he hadn't recovered in the seventh when he got dropped again really heavily, and I still contend that (referee) Kenny Bayliss - he helped Ramirez. He denied Josh Taylor the four or five seconds he needed.

The good old days, when we used to getup and listen to the big fights on the radio. Afterwards you can't sleep. I wont be sleeping after that. Full praise for Taylor but Ramirez, that was the best we've seen of him. Taylor couldn't get his rhythm early on.

Two fighters, two champions, evenly matched. We need to see more of it.
