It was a right hand which ended the fight. There's worry for Conlan who is being attended to by medical staff.

Pandemonium.
There is no let up by either fighter. They are swinging hard. Both going for the stoppage! Fight of the year. I'm calling it!! Wood has Conlan backed up. Halfway through the round.

There was a clear scoring punch so you can't fault the referee in that sense. It counts as a knockdown.

Adam Booth is furious in the Conlan corner telling referee Steve Gray that Conlan slipped and that shouldn’t have been a knockdown.
Conlan at times has traded when he hasn't needed to. But he knows he's not far away from achieving a boyhood dream of becoming world champion.
He lands with two solid left hooks! Wood is a standing target.
MY WORD! CONLAN IS DROPPED!!! TRAINER ADAM BOOTH AND CONLAN ARE BOTH INSISTING IT WAS A SLIP. DRAMA!!

We’re only in March but this will definitely be in the running for fight of the year later in 2022.
Wood’s best rounds have been the last three, throwing nine or ten punches in a frantic spell, landing at least seven of them.
However, Conlan has a huge cushion to work with after his earlier dominance. Wood has to finish this inside the distance or his title will be heading to Belfast.

That was a staggering last two minutes from Leigh Wood. This has been unbelievable here tonight.
We enter the championship rounds. This is one of the best scraps I've seen in a very long time.

Leigh Wood, irrepressible, pouring forward. A good portion of the round for the champion. Michael Conlan is bobbing and weaving but is catching an awful lot of these shots!
Not for the first time, both fighters clash heads.
Wood just can't evade that swinging left from Conlan. He must be landing that shot three or four times each round.
As the boxers get in close they trade punches to the body. Wood nods to appreciate a solid left hook.
Wood enjoys a brilliant end to the round, landing several shots with Conlan, breathing heavily, on the ropes.

Conlan was just walking Leigh Wood onto that shot. I can't believe Wood keeps walking onto that looping Conlan left hand.

Leigh Wood is continuing to press but have little success. Conlan is tying Wood up and walks him back to ring centre. The counter right jab from Conlan is exquisite.
Two trademark lefts land from Conlan in the first 20 seconds of the round. Then three straight jabs a minute in. After the previous round which may well have been scored for Wood, Conlan comes back with a beautiful display of boxing.
Wood looks frustrated as Conlan ties up the champion on the ropes.
Quality counter right from Wood as the bell rings. Another round of pure entertainment.

What a round! Absolutely magnificent contest here for this WBA featherweight title.
