Ben Davison said pre-fight this could be a "Taylor showcase".

Halfway through the fight and it's nowhere to be seen.

  2. Round 6published at 22:27 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2022

    Josh Taylor v Jack Catterall

Nice uppercut from Taylor with his left hand. He needs to make his experience count.

Nothing is fazing Catterall, though. It's been sensational so far from the Chorley-born man, who hits another crunching left hand.

And another. This is masterclass stuff from Catterall.

Josh is getting too close, he's not doing enough from a distance. Jack is winning the contest from a distance right now, too.

  5. Round 5published at 22:24 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2022

    Josh Taylor v Jack Catterall

Taylor is complaining to the referee but he's simply being out-boxed at the moment.

Catterall hits a cracker again with his left over the top. Add a right hand to that, too. Taylor can't get into his usual groove.

The champion responds, though, and the crowd are with him, but Catterall is so accurate with his punching.

Another strong round for the challenger.

Exactly what is expected from Jack Catterall in the first couple of rounds, using his speed and timing. The problem for Catterall will be form, though. I'd argue he's not had a hard, competitive fight since 2018, unlike Josh Taylor - he hasn't stopped having them.

  9. Round 4published at 22:20 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2022

    Josh Taylor v Jack Catterall

Yet another timeout. Both fighters need to be careful. The referee won't stand for much more holding.

Taylor just can't seem to get any shots off and Catterall looks composed.

But the champion slams a body shot into Catterall. The champion is fighting nowhere near his best as the Englishman hits an impressive combination to end the round.

Jamie Moore tells his fighter "perfect" as he welcomes the challenger back to the corner.

Wee bit of edginess among the crowd after Catterall’s composed start. There’s almost a rasp of relief from them when Taylor lands one.

Taylor tries to hit a flurry of shots in frustration but the challenger responds well.

Catterall ends the round with a good body shot. Taylor needs to kick into gear. Ben Davison tells the champion he's "headhunting" when he sits back down in the corner.

  13. Round 3published at 22:14 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2022

    Josh Taylor v Jack Catterall

Taylor has Catterall on the ropes early but the challenger gets clear easily.

Another time out. The referee needs to sort this out or it's going to spoil a potential cracker.

It was a quiet opening round, but in my opinion, Jack probably won it. No one controlled it, though.

  15. Round 2published at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2022

    Josh Taylor v Jack Catterall

More jabs and a nice combination from Catterall.

Taylor just needs to settle. He's got the backing to help him do that.

Better from the Scot, a body shot is followed by a jab, but the referee calls a time out as Catterall takes a hold.

Taylor ends the round strong with a flurry of shots. This is bubbling away nicely...

The referee tells Taylor off for a punch on the back of Catterall's head.

  18. Round 1published at 22:07 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February 2022

    Josh Taylor v Jack Catterall

More patience from both men as the round progresses, but Catterall will be happy with his start here in this cauldron of noise.

An uppercut connects for the challenger. But then a body shot from Taylor.

Both fighters are getting tight as the end of the round nears, then Catterall hits a nice jab. Decent opening for the 28-year-old.

Both fighters scope each other out in the first 30 seconds but then Catterall connects with a nice left over the top.
