  1. A pretty weak undercardpublished at 21:52 British Summer Time 23 April 2022

One of the criticisms of this night is that the undercard is pretty weak. It's a shame the likes of Hamzah Sheeraz and Anthony Yarde are not featuring. Fighting in front of 94,000 fans at Wembley Stadium with millions watching worldwide - you cannot get better exposure than that.

  2. Not long nowpublished at 21:52 British Summer Time 23 April 2022

We've waited a long time for this. Soon these two men will be trading punches.

    Re 21.28...

I think Chris has had a few too many beers tonight. I would love to see Fury v Joshua, but Joshua will probably lose his rematch to Usyk, so won't deserve to fight Fury.

To get punched in the face in front of 94,000 people and millions watching around the world, you’d expect to be rewarded handsomely.

As such, Fury will earn at least £22.9m tonight and Whyte is set to take home £5.75m.

There is also a 10% bonus of £3.2m for the winner.

  8. No bad bloodpublished at 21:47 British Summer Time 23 April 2022

    Kal Sajad

These two were pals once upon a time, having sparred several rounds together. But over the years, a rivalry intensified over social media. Whyte said he floored Fury in sparring and made the Gypsy King cry. Fury denied those claims and questioned Whyte’s credentials as a top heavyweight.

When Whyte finally made a public appearance at Wednesday’s media conference, reporters were expecting fireworks. But what we got instead was a great deal of mutual respect.

At Friday’s weigh-in, the pair tickled each other, embraced, swapped baseball caps and even danced together on stage for the fans.

In many ways, it was refreshing to see the genuine respect and a jovial interaction rather than inauthentic, pantomime-like, hostility for the cameras.

  15. Fury comes in lightpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 23 April 2022

    Kal Sajad
    BBC Sport at Wembley Stadium

Tyson Fury weighed in at 18st 12lb, his lightest since 2019. That gives us some idea as to how he might approach this fight; quick movement, out of range, working behind the jab and not allowing Dillian Whyte to get on the inside and turn this into a slugfest.

In the three fights with Wilder, Fury displayed a range of styles - including standing and trading with the big puncher.

Against Whyte – who also has one-punch knockout power - he has suggested he will switch to a southpaw stance in order to neutralise his opponent's greatest weapon, the left hook.

  17. 'Whyte has to make sure Fury doesn't bully him'published at 21:33 British Summer Time 23 April 2022

    More big-name predictions...

New Zealand's former WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, who lost to Whyte in 2018: "Tyson is going to win by knockout between rounds five and nine. The undisputed fight will be after that and maybe Dillian can fight me. I want to right that wrong."

Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin, who lost to Fury on points in 2019: "It's going to be a tough night for Dillian. He's the shorter guy, the smaller guy. He has power but he will need faster feet and faster hands to get close to Fury.

"He needs to make sure he doesn't let Fury bully him around. But I think Fury will dictate how this fight will play out. He will try and outbox him and then maybe go for a late stoppage, but I predict he will win on points."

Former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis: "I think Dillian Whyte is going to find it difficult boxing a tall guy like Tyson Fury. And even catching him."

  18. Fury's homecomingpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 23 April 2022

    Kal Sajad
    BBC Sport at Wembley Stadium

The last time Fury fought in the United Kingdom was in 2018 against Francesco Pianeta in Belfast. Will this be a homecoming party to remember?

Over the past four years, the Gypsy King has cracked America. His comeback story – returning to the sport after more than two and a half years after battling depression – endeared him to fans across the pond.

His trilogy with Deontay Wilder is one which will forever be etched in the minds of boxing fans.

Think back to the way he, almost inexplicably, rose from the canvas and drew the first fight. The masterclass he put on in the second. And then the courage and ruthlessness he showed by going toe-to-toe with Wilder, one of the biggest punchers in the division, in the third bout.

Whatever happens tonight, it is a pleasure for British fight fans to welcome back one of the greatest fighters of our generation.
