    Smith v Eubank 2

Smith continues to struggle with his ankle. His movement is off and he hasn't got a solid base to try and attack from.

Another straightforward round for Eubank with the jab doing most of the heavy lifting.

I've got him up eight rounds. Smith needs a knockout.

Smith is attempting a couple of bigger shots now - one left hook narrowly missing Eubank.

He's clearly not moving right, and knows he is behind on points - so needs to finish this, or at least gain some momentum from somewhere very soon.

Great variety of shots from Eubank.

His jab has been key tonight but it has been complimented by some well-timed uppercuts and some lovely left hooks to the body.

Smith grimaces as he absorbs one of the hooks and then he's backed up in the final 10 seconds by two lefts.

The pair exchange verbals as they head back to their corners.

Tony Bellow wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Something isn’t right with Liam’s left leg and it’s clear as day! I don’t know what it is but his left leg or ankle is in a bad way.. Really good advice in the corner! Don’t let him tie you up! Fire inside every time he tries to claim ya!"

Chris Eubank is going to shock everyone, knock out late in the fight. BoMac is going to be the key to victory.

  7. Round sixpublished at 23:26 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Smith v Eubank 2

Eubank expended a lot of energy in round five but he's still got more in the tank as he starts round six on the front foot too.

The trusty left jab ensures Eubank continues to control this fight, forcing it through the guard of Smith on several occasions.

Smith tires his best to hold on to Eubank but the referee quickly separates them and Eubank gets back to work.

Not as explosive as the previous round but another in the bag for Eubank.

There is a suggestion that Smith may have injured his ankle.

Not content with the fight going on in the ring, a scrap has broken out in the stands on the opposite side of the ring to the press area.

A shame for those punters, now being escorted out by security, as they have given up the chance to watch what is turning into an enthralling encounter.

  10. Round fivepublished at 23:22 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Smith v Eubank 2

Eubank is unloading in the first minute of the round.

Smith was backed up to the ropes with a flurry of punches coming at him. Eubank must have thrown at least 30 with plenty landing.

Somehow the Liverpudlian survives and circles out of danger. The referee was having a close look.

Eubank can't keep that tempo going to the bell and the final minute was much calmer.

It was round four in the first meeting of this pair in which Eubank was beaten by Smith.

It is in round four of the second meeting in which Eubank has roared into the ascendancy.

The one positive for Smith is that he is still standing.

Massive round for Eubank. His confidence has gone through the roof and he's boxing with real authority now.

  13. Round fourpublished at 23:18 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

    Smith v Eubank 2

It was round four when Smith did the business on Eubank in January and it looks like he wants to return the favour.

It's one way traffic with Eubank picking him off with ease.

The jab continues to find a home with great regularity and he's really starting to enjoy himself with combinations too.

It was an uppercut that put Smith down early in the round.

He's working the harder of the two is Eubank, but maybe Smith is happy with that. The rounds are slipping away from him though.

Great start to the round from Eubank and he puts Smith down on the canvas.

Smith spits out his gumshield. He looks in trouble here.

Really good shots there from Eubank and it didn't look like he was putting 100 per cent energy into them.

    Smith v Eubank 2

This looks like a much-improved Eubank.

He's using the jab as a foundation and then starts to let the hands flow.

Smith keeps tucking in behind the gloves and that allows Eubank the opportunity to start teeing off.

Eubank throws an uppercut and follows with a hook to the body late in the round.

Very comfortable so far. This is the Eubank we expected to see in January.

  18. 'Eubank is a lot more settled'published at 23:10 British Summer Time 2 September 2023

Eubank is a lot more settled this time around, he's throwing more logical shots. He's not throwing wild uppercuts.

I would describe this one as a slow burner so far.

A few boos from the crowd at the end of round one as the pair came together in hold for what seemed like the umpteenth time.

Eubank unleashed a couple more shots in round two, hopefully a sign that this one will start to open up soon.

Certainly, Smith having words with Eubank at the end of the round, feeling he had been pushed to the canvas, could add needed spice.

Some good work from Eubank as he continues to work from the jab and then doubles it up.

Plenty of holding from Eubank too and you can already hear complaints from Smith's corner.

Smith ends the round on the canvas but it is deemed a push and doesn't count as a knockdown.

Eubank up two rounds by my count.
