Clarke beats Allen

That was a testy bout between Frazer Clarke and Dave Allen, both inside and outside the ring.
Clarke did catch Allen low on a few occasions, and after Clarke had two points deducted, Allen angrily claimed he was caught again with furious protestations from his supporters ringside too.
It's a shame, because Clarke was a deserved winner in terms of the legal shots he landed. A fearsome right upper cut in round four stands out in particular.
Eventually his persistent shots to Allen's jaw forced him to retire - but he and his corner continued to remonstrate with Clarke after in the ring, and the Burton boxer got a very mixed reception from the Manchester crowd at the end there.
Dave Allen has retired in the corner between rounds.
There appears to be an issue with his jaw.
That's the third time a fighter has retired in Frazer Clarke's last four fights.
January's pre-fight news conference was unsavoury to say the least.
Homophobic taunts and taunts about social class left an extremely sour taste in the mouth, but there were no such flashpoints this time, with both men sticking to fighting talk.
Former WBO light-middleweight champion Liam Smith tried his best to get under the skin of his opponent by turning his attention to Chris Eubank Jr's new trainer Brian 'Bomac' McIntyre.
Eubank parted ways with Roy Jones Jr after his loss to Smith and McIntyre is his third coach in the last four years.
"Brian and the rest of the team, be prepared for the backlash because he'll blame you," Smith said.
"He blames everyone bar himself. You make the mistakes. Take it on the chin yourself."

I'd stay away from the body now and focus on the head, especially after having two points deducted.
It's getting a bit scrappy between Frazer Clarke and Dave Allen in round six.
Clarke has been deducted two points in this round for landing successive low blows.
He caught Allen low earlier in the fight too but the referee just gave out a warning.
After last week's drama with Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois we don't need any more low blow headlines!
It's no secret that there is no love lost between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr.
There was a fair bit of back of forth at this week's news conference and after listening to Eubank talk about how he is better prepared for the rematch, Smith simply replied: "Good luck, Chris."
Frazer Clarke and Dave Allen are halfway through their 10-round fight.
Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist Clarke is in control but can he end this inside the distance?

Clarke got close a couple of times. He's got to not just paw with the jab, but really stamp it in. He's got to use some feints, maybe jab the body.
Few fancied Liam Smith to deliver against Chris Eubank Jr at the start of the year but he clearly hadn't read the script.
Smith came out with intent and, despite Eubank seemingly finding his groove in round three, the Liverpudlian got the job done in round four.
Eubank was twice put on the canvas by the veteran, who is enjoying a purple patch late in his career and now boasts four stoppage wins in a row.
Prior to the defeat, Eubank had won six in a row and he insisted at this week's news conference that Smith's victory was a "miracle".
The 33-year-old now has three defeats on his 35-fight record and is looking to avoid adding another to that column.
Eubank said: "The miracle was you walking away with a win over me. You shouldn't have won the fight and I am going to rectify that.
"The performance will be exquisite, supernatural, a beautiful artistic display of savage boxing."

Boxing expert Steve Bunce has been on the ground in Manchester this week, speaking with both camps.
Among those Buncey spent time with are Chris Eubank Jr, Joe McNally, who trains Liam Smith, promoter Ben Shalom and Mikaela Mayer, who faces Silvia Bortot on the undercard.
As is often the case in boxing... it's a complicated old story.
Chris Eubank Jr says he knew within seconds after his loss to Liam Smith in January that he would activate his rematch clause.
In April, the rematch was confirmed for 17 June with Eubank insisting he "enjoyed" the defeat and vowing "to improve"
It took just two weeks for the first twist in this tale with Smith revealing an old injury had flared up and the fight was pushed back to 1 July.
Fast forward another two weeks and, yes, you guessed it... another bump in the road.
Smith said his team wanted to further postpone after a medical assessment.
Savannah Marshall ended up headlining the 1 July card as she beat Franchon Crews-Dezurn to become the undisputed super-middleweight champion.
Every story needs a happy ending, right?
It was 17 July when we got the announcement that the British rivals had settled on 2 September for their rematch.
I warned you it was a complicated journey, but we're finally on the verge of seeing the rematch.
Frazer Clarke and Dave Allen have just gone through round one - Clarke is looking pretty sharp.
I'll keep you across any big events in that bout, but let's start looking ahead to tonight's main event.

This is a big step up from the class that Frazer Clarke has been fighting as a professional.

The pressure is on Frazer Clarke here. He's the Olympian, he's the one they're trying to fast track.

It has filled up very nicely at Manchester Arena.
Practically a full house even before Frazer Clarke took to the arena.
We've got two fights until we can feast on tonight's main course.
Heavyweights Frazer Clarke and Dave Allen are just about to get their contest under way.
Clarke, who was last seen when beating Mariusz Wach in June, is looking to extend his unbeaten record to eight and Allen is seeking a fifth successive victory.
Unbeaten prospect Adam Azim faces Ukraine's Adam Fanyan at light-welterweight in the co-main.

Hello from a very warm and humid Manchester. I've just returned from Australia where I was covering the Women's World Cup - it's hotter here than in Sydney.
Plenty of anticipation around the city even hours before the ringwalks, with the nearest pub - attached to Manchester Victoria station - packed to capacity.
Whatever happens tonight, it shouldn't be boring.
Welcome along!
Here we go again.
Cast your mind back to January and we were preparing for the first meeting between Liam Smith and Chris Eubank Jr at Manchester's AO Arena.
Smith defied his underdog tag to stop Eubank in four rounds.
But the bitter rivalry didn't end that night and the duo run it back tonight at the same venue.
Can Smith earn a repeat result? Or will Eubank avenge that loss?
