Over at Haas, Esteban Ocon is not happy he is the first out on track and will potentially give his team-mate Ollie Bearman a tow.

We have 18 times on the timing tower, we're just waiting for Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz to complete their laps in the Williams. Albon is first to cross the line and goes to P9. Just Spaniard Sainz now to make a move.

  11. Norris to the toppublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 6 September

Max Verstappen clatters over the kerb as he heads towards Ascari chicane but his wobble hasn't hindered his lap time as he goes second on the board behind Charles Leclerc. On his next lap, the Dutchman needs his pit wall to check the floor after a trip across the gravel.

The McLarens are next to finish a push lap and it's Lando Norris who is the faster of the papaya cars, beating title leader and team-mate Oscar Piastri by 0.100 seconds.

Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman put the first markers on the board, with Briton Bearman the quicker of the two Haas drivers. The Monegasque man's time is a 1:19.801 on the softs.

One thing we've got to watch out for is getting a lap in in Q1 when it counts because the times are going to be so close.

Kimi Antonelli and George Russell in the Mercedes have both headed out on medium tyres first, while the rest of the field are soft runners.

The tifosi are ready to welcome Lewis Hamilton to the track. The roar is loud and proud from the Italian fans, but can they be rewarded with a pole position at Monza? Got to make it through Q1 and Q2 first, though.

  19. Tifosi hope for polepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 6 September

The tifosi are here to see one thing and one thing only: Ferrari success. Whether that is achievable this weekend following a bruising outing in the Netherlands, we'll find out soon.

Ferrari took back-to-back poles at Monza in 2022 (Charles Leclerc) and 2023 (Carlos Sainz) but it was Leclerc’s one-stop win from fourth last year that yielded home race success.

This season, Leclerc’s pole in Hungary before the summer break remains Ferrari’s solitary Saturday highlight, with the Monegasque driver also banking the team’s five main podiums so far in the campaign.

The lack of highs in 2025 hasn't stopped the Scuderia fans from flocking to the circuit this weekend, though.

  20. Traffic woes and towspublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 6 September

Right at the end of third practice, Ollie Bearman had to flag a potential issue with his pit wall, as there was a car dwadling at the apex of Turn One. Who was the offending driver? Only his own team-mate, Esteban Ocon. "That was poor execution," Brit Bearman said.

Frenchman Ocon also had a bit of a back and forth with his Brazil 2018 nemesis Max Verstappen during the session.

The jostle for position at the high-speed Monza circuit is always fierce, while the advantage gained from catching a slipstream can also factor into teams' tactics. Will any driver be prepared to lend a helping hand to a team-mate in need? Former Red Bull man Sergio Perez sacrificed his final lap to give Verstappen a tow on the run down to Parabolica on his final lap last year.
