Does Lando Norris give too much away in this final practice session? They share the information and share the GPS data so Oscar Piastri can learn from Norris and Norris can learn from Piastri as well, but I've always wondered if he's doing his best in FP3 and that's too soon?

We're approaching the final 10 minutes of third practice and the McLarens, predictably, are the fastest on track.

What have Ferrari got in their locker at their home race? They're yet to register a time on the softs at the minute.

The soft tyre is where it's at right now.

Isack Hadjar's gone third fastest while Gabriel Bortoleto's gone fourth with an impressive lap in his Sauber.

  5. Norris goes fastestpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 6 September

Lando Norris has set a marker on that soft tyre.

He goes fastest and carves almost four tenths out of Max Verstappen with a time of 1:19.331.

Meanwhile Oscar Piastri goes second fastest 0.247 seconds behind his team-mate.

Lando Norris has had the soft tyres bolted on and so has Oscar Piastri, they will go out and see what they can do.

With McLaren looking mightly impressive this season, how are championship leader Oscar Piastri and his rival Lando Norris looking?

Piastri's ninth fastest as things stand with Norris 16th. I don't think we've seen the best of the pair so far on Saturday.

    20 minutes remain.

Second practice was a very close affair indeed. The top 12 were separated by just under six tenths.

So far in FP3, that same time gap is the difference between first and fifth.

Lewis Hamilton's just set a purple first sector as he aims for a better showing in his Ferrari compared to last week in Zandvoort.

His second sector isn't quite as good and he ends up second fastest and 0.241 seconds behind Max Verstappen in top spot.

Impressive as Isack Hadjar's been of late, the Racing Bulls driver has a problem in the short term, at least.

He will be investigated for going off at Turn Four and for failing to follow the race director's instructions with regards to the escape road.

Esteban Ocon has just got his elbows out on Max Verstappen into the first chicane.

I can't repeat what Verstappen's told his race engineer but, well, he's not happy with Ocon.

  14. 'Antonelli needs a better day'published at 11:59 British Summer Time 6 September

    Jennie Gow

Kimi Antonelli just had a pit stop practice and they wheeled him back into the garage. He needs a better day than he had on Friday, he managed to get beached on Lap Four in FP2.

You feel there is pressure on this young man, he's 19 years old and from Italy.

    Oh hello, Nico Hulkenberg.

He's dragged his Sauber into the mix and goes third fastest but an onrushing Lewis Hamilton is right behind him and regains the position moments later.

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen's gone even faster with a 1:19.688.

Charles Leclerc's just heroically rescued his car from a high-speed off.

Last year's race winner loses the rear but keeps his Ferrari pointing in the right direction.

George Russell was the final driver to set a time in third practice but it looks like he's hit a bit of traffic on his way.

He's currently sitting in 10th and sixth tenths off Max Verstappen.

  18. 'Busy on track'published at 11:53 British Summer Time 6 September

    Alice Powell

The wind speed on our timing screens is fluctuating a little bit and there is a slight tail wind into Turn One.

It's quite busy and congested on track at the moment.

  19. Postpublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 6 September

Max Verstappen goes fastest with a 1:20.040 on the soft tyre but the Ferraris, who had a very handy FP1, aren't far behind.

Charles Leclerc is just 0.014 seconds behind with Lewis Hamilton third fastest just over two tenths behind Verstappen.

  20. 'Good news for Gasly'published at 11:49 British Summer Time 6 September

    Alice Powell
British racing driver on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

[On Pierre Gasly's contract extension]: It's good news for Pierre Gasly and for Alpine as well. They've got a driver that is committing to them because that second seat is a bit up in the air. It's good for Alpine that they've got a driver on their books for the next few seasons.
