Andrew: An absolute nothing of a season for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari.

Mercedes came here pretty confident because they won here last year with Lewis Hamilton.

It's the sort of place where you would expect them to be quick, it's a quick circuit, temperatures are relatively cool, the tyres are not getting too much of hard work around here despite the high-speed corners.

Mercedes should be doing well here but they feel a little bit like they've lost their way as a team at the moment, they don't quite understand why the car isn't performing in the way they think it should perform.

  3. Second qualifying startspublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 26 July

Lewis Hamilton is still sitting in his Ferrari in the garage, seemingly reflecting on what has just happened.

The show goes on, however, with the second part of qualifying under way.

  4. 'Terrible for Aston Martin'published at 15:27 British Summer Time 26 July

    Damon Hill
1996 world champion on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

That's terrible for Aston Martin, they're 19th and 20th there.

That's dreadful. Lewis Hamilton is no longer able to take part in qualifying, there's a lot of very embarrassed looking people at the Ferrari garage.

  8. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 26 July

Lewis Hamilton exceeded the track limits at Turn Four and that resulted in that lap being deleted.

A dreadful weekend for the seven-time world champion so far.

There's a lot of pressure on Kimi Antonelli a little bit now, he's had his entrance to Formula 1 and his opportunity, he's shown flares of form and he's actually won a sprint race in Miami.

He's been a little bit up and down and he needs to show that he can be consistent here now in this top team at Mercedes.

  16. Postpublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 26 July

Kimi Antonelli improves but only to go 11th quickest, so he's still in a spot of bother.

Better from George Russell though as he goes eighth quickest and should be through.

  17. 'Pressure on Mercedes'published at 15:15 British Summer Time 26 July

    Damon Hill
1996 world champion on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The pressure is definitely on Mercedes here, they have currently not put a time up and we've got four minutes left.

  18. Postpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 26 July

Mercedes have both cars in the elimination zone at the moment but they are out on fresh softs and have the time to get out of danger.

Here comes Lando Norris again and he goes fastest of all with four minutes to go, clocking 1:41.010.

Oscar Piastri goes second quickest, two tenths down on Norris.

Ferrari have had a bit of a mare. Charles Leclerc was there in the sprint race but no competition for the McLaren and Lewis Hamilton was stuck at the back.

Hamilton has now put his car into sixth place here but he was six-tenths slower than his team-mate on that lap.
