I'm looking at the gap [between Piastri and Leclerc] slowly closing down, seven seconds with three laps remaining, I don't think that's enough time for Oscar to close in on the back of the Ferrari. I wonder if Ferrari sat and waited to see if McLaren would react to boxing.

'La pista magica'is delivering special things for Ferrari in the closing stages of this Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Charles Leclerc tyres are looking, well, not healthy, but still he powers on 4.3 seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri.

The shirts are off in the crowd. Bare bellies are on show as Charles Leclerc picks off another lap ahead of his McLaren rivals. A shot of his brother, Arthur in the garage shows the nerves on Ferrari's faces. I bet even his dog, Leo is feeling the pressure.

  13. Norris passes Sainzpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 1 September

    Lap 48/53

OK, defence over. Lando Norris breezes through on the straight Carlos Sainz to take third place but the Briton would have preferred to have made that move on the Spaniard a lap or two earlier.

Valtteri Bottas started this race on the hards and went 34 laps at the beginning with full fuel, so now looking at Leclerc he's done 30 laps on those hard tyres, I think he can make it.
