Track temperature at the moment is 53C, but that will cool considerably for when qualifying gets under way at 8pm local time (6pm UK time).
As for the tyres this weekend, Pirelli has opted to go one step softer for this year's Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with teams able to choose from the C3 (white, hard), the C4 (yellow, medium) and the C5 (red, soft). Managing those compounds and keeping the rubber sweet in the heat is of high priority.

Gabriel Bortoleto is playing catch-up today after sitting on the sidelines for the whole of second practice because Sauber found a fuel leak on his car.
The Brazilian rookie, who is taking to the Jeddah circuit for the first time, will go in to today's qualifying fight without a single lap to his name in the cooler night-time conditions. Bortoleto said it was frustrating to miss out on valuable running, but he'll have a look at team-mate Nico Hulkenberg's data to see what he can learn.

The Red Bull of Yuki Tsunoda needed roadside assistance at the end of second practice yesterday, after he clipped the inside of the wall at the final corner on a hot lap and crashed, bringing out a red flag.
Tsunoda climbed out of the car OK and apologised to the team, saying he was "just turning too much" before the incident. On a positive note, the Japanese driver confirmed his pace had been looking good. The downside of the crash, however, was he was limited on his long run.

Pierre Gasly was quickest in the opening session in the heat of Jeddah but come the more representative time of second practice, McLaren secured a one-two on the timesheets, with Lando Norris 0.163 seconds quicker than his team-mate Oscar Piastri.
Briton Norris has been honest about his struggles with the car this season, despite leading the early championship by three points. He said Friday in Saudi was all about gaining confidence and feeling and with that, he is "on the right track".
Max Verstappen was third in the Red Bull, over two and a half tenths off Norris' best time, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc fourth and the Williams of Carlos Sainz fifth.
