There was a couple of things I was reflecting on at half-time.

The key thing for me is the kick-outs. Galway have got six shots away from seven long kick-outs.

And the other side of it is that Galway have to go after Donegal's kick-outs because they are getting a good return as well.

Galway quickly get up and running in the second half, and re-take the lead with Shane Walsh popping a free over the bar.

After a rather long half-time break, the game is back underway at Croke Park... will we have a winner 35 minutes from now or are we set for another bout of extra-time?

  5. Donegal look to have more scoring optionspublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 14 July

Six Donegal players have got on the scoresheet, with Michael Langan the star turn with three glorious efforts from play, while four Galway men are on the board. That just about sums up their difference in the two sides' scoring options.

Donegal look to have more players capable of firing over scores.

The scrappy goal has kept Galway in the contest with Damien Comer getting very little change out of Brendan McCole so far.

Shane Walsh has got on the ball a bit more but while he has been on target a couple of times, he dropped another great chance into Shaun Patton's hands which frustrated him immensely as his reaction showed.

Galway for the want of a better they have broke Donegal down a small bit but if Donegal sit in a bit more and ask Galway the question, can you really break us down.

I think they might drop off a small bit. But it's a great psychological, how would say, just stroke to really push and send that message we are going after you, but they really need to come after you out the back.

  8. Donegal the happierpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time 14 July

Armagh All-Ireland winner on BBC Sport

I think Donegal will be happier.

Because i think early on they were forcing themselves into shots and they didn't realise that there was that extra little pass, that extra little bit of space inside.

And once they started to get inside the scoring zone, I thought they looked very comfortable.

Former Derry & Tyrone boss on BBC Sport

I have to hand it to Donegal, the energy that they are putting into it. They are all coming back, they are all working really hard. They are keeping Galway at bay and they have the legs to go forward themselves.

Brendan Cawley blows the whistle and it's half-time at Croke Park, with Galway protesting that they were on the attack for a point.

Both sides will be content at the break, with Donegal showing great character to respond to Paul Conroy's sucker punch goal.

Michael Langan is on fire for the Ulster side, as he hits his third point of the day.

Some of the scores from Donegal have been stupendous this afternoon and that was one of the best!

What they do really well is that they don't panic - we've seen that in Ulster. If they go a goal behind, or a couple of points behind, they just keep staying with that process.

Slow build-up and getting it to the right man in the right position.

  16. Galway goal out of nothingpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 14 July

Galway had been struggling to get their shooters Shane Walsh and Damien Comer on the ball but that goal has come out of nothing as Patton seemed to be distracted by Tierney's presence.

Previously players other than Walsh and Comer had looked in good positions to score but either had been reluctant to shoot or has been off-target. But that goal was one against the head.

You could see Gallen is hesitant to hit it on his right.

Galway need to really make sure that they push him on to his right because he has got that sweet left foot.
